The shut-down of Hostess was self inflected by those employees that belong to the Union. Its like cutting off the hand that feeds you.
Hostess would have had to sell their bread for $7-8 a loaf to stay afloat. Even the union members wouldn't pay that price for bread.
If Mr Obama would do just one good thing in his 8 years reign as King, it would be get some strict regulations on all of these out of line Unions. The Unions were developed back in the 20s and were good then...they are now totally out of line. They have bankrupt and drove more of our made in USA production companies out to other countries than one can imagine.

And what do you have to say about the CEO and his buddies giving themselves bonus when the company is trying to come back from bankrupcy. All you right wingers love to talk about the unions, but think it is ok for these CEO's and their buddies to take these huge bonuses. Get off it about the unions and start doing something about the golden parachutes for all of these companies CEO and buddies. These union people work HARD for their money and working conditions that you wouldn't be able to stand for even an hour. Try to work by an oven in the summer where the temperature gets as high as 140 degrees. It was not self-inflected it was the companies greed that shut down Hostess. Next time know what you are talking about. Rayburn shuts down Hostess and then wants a bonus for himself and his buddies. That is what the last 7 CEO's did at Hostess and THAT is what shut the company down. They also sent all the office jobs overseas. You are one of those people that love to talk and knows NOTHING about what he is talking about!!!!!! Let the CEO and his buddies get some of the money from the last 7 CEO's back and take a pay cut and NO bonuses!!!! One thing that is GREAT about Obama is he is for the 98% of American people and sees that people like you are greedy and could care less for other people. Do you really think God approves of people that take advantage of people like Hostess did to its employees? NO!!!! He would not approve of Hostess stealing money from their employees. The seventh commandment is "THOU SHALL NOT STEAL!!!!!!!

That is very interesting thrown to the curb because right after 18,500 hostess workers were fired your union president gave himself a raise. Obviously for a job well done.

Flowers distributor here .... Live in central Florida and since hostess went down I have more business than I can handle . Picked up 12 new accounts in less than a week ... Without even trying .... And they keep calling ....Gained tremendous self space in all major grocery accounts ... Since Merita and Wonder bread are gone ....We are picking up the slack Big time ... Over they last year we had a number of Merita and Wonder guys jump ship before it went down and came to our company .... The writing was on the wall . Feel bad for my fellow bread brothers , Flowers always has been a great company to be with for the last 26 years ....Was going to join Merita from the start but I decided to go with Flowers because they had a local distribution center near where I live ...... I thank the good Lord above .....

The best CEO Hostess (it was Interstate Brands then)ever had was Hatch.(last name) He came to each plant to talked to the employees and ask how everything was going at that plant. CEO's need to start talking to the employees and they can tell them things about plants that their buddies and some of the other management buddies are not aware of. Like equipment that is not working correctly or the trucks are not running well. Sadly I think those days are over and the CEO's really are not concerned about their employees. SAD!!!!!

that is not true. You must be anti union. Most likely poor hostess brands manager a union that looses members due to plant clOsure looses union dues by its members so raises are out of the question.
