Not the bakers fault. When you are not receiving the pay you are owed and the CEO and management are taking 2 million for bonus that is not right. When do you think a person should stand up for himself when the bakers hours, wages, pension, and insurance are cut by at least 25%? Hostess was working on combining the routes and they were going to have HALF the routes they had from last month. They were going to be a lot of drivers out of work. I worked with all of that in the office until they farmed our jobs out. Bakers hours would have gone to 31 hours and then they would have NO insurance. So you do NOT have a clue what you are talking about. I worked in the office for 30 years and I KNOW what they were up to. They were going to really hurt the bakers and drivers on hours and insurance. So maybe that is ok with you but some of us have worked hard for what little we got. I already have another job making as much as I did at Hostess WITH benefits. So instead of talking about what you know nothing about how about turning you anger into peace. Much better for your health. There is diffently life after Hostess and it is a better life. Better hours, too.

You will find a good job with benefits and one of these days you will look back and realize just how bad it was working for Hostess Brands. If you were a baker you will not have to work in that awful heat in the summers. I know it can get to 140 degrees by the ovens in the summer. If you were a route driver...no other company could have trucks as bad as Hostess. Good luck and God bless you and your family!!!

You are right are trucks were death traps and not being a baker I can't say I worked in 140 degree plants. It still just sucks that it going to months to find a job of equal value and the pension well that's another topic pennies on the dollar I will get! Best Wishes to all and my prays go out to you and your families.

Most places are not hiring these days and when an employer finds you are one of those Hostess union bozos you can bet they wont be interested in you. Walmart probably won't want any union rabble rousers either so it looks like many of you will end up becoming self employed landscapers, gardeners, car washers and the like. Buying a sewer cleaning machine is another possibility unless you are in a state that requires all sewer cleaning be done by a licensed plumber (unions)
On the bright side fast food will overlook your background at times when they are hurting for employees. Those burgers have got to be put on the cooking belt you know and at the more sit down types of restaurants someone has to load dishes into the dishwasher.
Last but not least consider becoming a handyman of sorts. People always need windows washed, a basement cleaned out or other odd jobs. Bear in mind that being self employed means you will not fall under minimum wage laws so you will work for much less.
Happy Holidays!

I wish you the best and I know you will find another job that is better than Hostess. You just have to have faith in the good Lord. He will guide you and I will pray for you and your family. God bless you and your family!!!!

Let's apply a little basic mathematics.

2 million spread across the entire workforce is about $100 a man. The executive bonus doesn't amount to shit.

OTOH, let's take $2500 a man spread across the entire workforce. That comes to...46 million and change.

I don't know what the actual proposed pay cut was, but one can see that even a modest cut results in a large savings.

Good luck finding work.

The problem is people are afraid to stand up to these companies. Well this time they did and it is about time since the last 7 CEO's and their buddies stole pension monies for bonus. God says stealing is a sin...commandment 7. That is the REAL problem with companies is these CEO's and their buddies think they deserve these enormous bonuses and they DO NOT!!!! Oh, and on the job....I already found another job with great pay and benefits. There is a better life besides getting robbed by Hostess. So THERE IS LIFE AFTER HOSTESS!!!!!! Next time maybe know what you are talking about before you open you mouth.

Can`t wait for the day that you and your family will have to suffer. Karma is a bitch but you won`t see it that way. No matter who`s fault all of this was with Hostess, the fact that you taunt, and take pleasure with the fact that over 18,000 folks lost their jobs only because they were union workers is sad.

Like I said, I wish only the best for EVERYONE no matter what happens. But you, I just can`t do it. People like you are the lowest form of scum. Now go have a pleasant day & go f*ck yourself. I do wish the best for your kids if you have any and feel sorry for them. But I hope you suffer. Bad.

Problem was, we had already taken that modest cut. Then we took a huge cut. Then the company demanded cuts that would have doubled both of the other cuts. Enough already.
Good luck being an as*hole.
