There is no such thing as inviting a "light touch" from the government. Sooner or later it can only lead to their eventual force rape. Government intervention is not without an exacting price. Always love your country. Never trust your government.

Government always overreacts and the result would most likely be a highly censored internet and who in their right mind wants that?

How about this, the Corporations who don't want to support government services by paying a fair share to tax revenue are at the trough seeking government protections to protect their assets.

Well if that's not a reverse.

Perhaps that is so.
You would prefer no effort to defend against cyber war fare?

One thing that would help greatly would be to stop kissing the Chinese butt after they get caught repeatedly spying on us. This is is a bi-partisan screw up HW Bush was ambassador there and he started this down ward trend,

cyber spying is a genuine threat, recall the job the Israel and us did to the Iranians
The Chinese are our true global enemy, They have been spying on us from the moment HW Bush former ambassador opened the door for them, We are only beginning to call them on it.
And our right wing genius can only tell jokes,
Maybe pray that another Bush weened in China will be president in 2016
