Perry and Price tops, again, on morning radio

Too bad the survey never asked me who I listen to in the morning. I only listen to KSSK after Perry and Price get off the air.

I prefer to get my news from other sources and form my own opinions rather than listen to the slanted comments that they try to pass off as "news."

I think they should also asked, who listens to their iPods in the morning, noon and night in their cars. I like the commercials on KSSK better than P&P. Where is KIKI, 93.9, I love their morning show, they are not even in the top 10. All their listeners are in school or prison when the pollsters call!

agreed! i don't understand how and why these guys are popular. Price must be the only one in the country who can't even speak descent english and i wish their morning news is just news, i don't need to hear their commentary. to me their popularity is an insult to hawaii people. i only listen to their program to wake me up with their stupidity.

Right on with the comments so far. Perry is a knee-jerk reactionary constantly complaining about the mainstream media. Funny, he works for the LARGEST radio conglomerate in the world, and pulls his news from AP and Reuters who are the two LARGEST news services in the world.

Oddly enough, though, he does a good job on that show "Interesting Things Haole People Do"...errr, that's the "Hawaiian Moving Company."

Price sounds like a boob, but over time I've come to realize he is quite akamai. I kind of think his speech thing is just shtik.

Go for Morning Edition on NPR for a sane and stimulating morning drive.

And even for music, Alice Cooper's Nights on the Big Kahuna beats that Car Tunes crap KSSK plays by a mile, regardless of whether you like classic rock.

I listen to Perry and Price in the morning! I like their style, and it's hilarious the way Larry messes ups his words all the time! It's like he just blends 2 words to make a new one. I like Perry due to his "hate the criminals" attitude! I like Julia Norton-Dennis' straight forward approach to the news. Very professional imho.

I don't understand why Larry Price is STILL on the air. He consistently stumbles through news stories, massacres live ads (if I were a paying sponsor, I would ask for my money back PLUS restitution for emotional distress)and is basically annoying.

When I worked in radio many moons ago, the program director would do on air checks on all the DJs to critique our work. I guess Larry is above all that. He does not sound like a man with a PhD.

Also, since Star 101.9 doesn't even rate a blib in the ratings, will they finally get rid of that Hudson fiasco in the morning! Talk about annoying!

The formula for number one radio station seems to be:(1) offer listeners a lot of money (2) offer listeners more money and (3) give away more money.

The only reason most people listen to kssk is because of the alleged money they are giving away. Take this away and most people will listen to other stations.

These ratings say nothing about the djs, but they say a lot about the greed of price and perry listeners.

I listen to npr. I don't need anyone interpreting the news for me. The music is great.

I concur. It's irritating listening to Larry Price pronounce city "council' as "console". Bastardizing simple words is no longer cute.

My favorite morning jock when I lived in Hawaii was the late Tom "Dynamite" Dancer on K108. He was hilarious! Even got to meet him a few times at remote broadcasts. A real nice guy.

I'll never forget the ads for Bob's Big Boy which Tom would always end with the smooth catch phrase, "Come to Bob's, and take it easy."

And the (politically incorrect) Chinese guy who would say, "Dat ol' Tom Dancer... he ahways bwowin' peepo up!"

Big Kahuna 105.1 is the new KPOI (which was the old KDUK).

Exactly. They were the only ones on air during the morning of the last Earthquake power outage. I thought that they were spoofing, then realized they were actually idiots. Mr. Football connection was summarizing football scores and called teams the Los Angelas Rams and the Baltimore Colts. Bowtimo Coats.
