continuing the true story of Obama w. BUsh

Defenders Executive Vice President (and former head of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) Jamie Rappaport Clark has been urging the Obama administration to restore protections for these wolves. And it is clear that we have a very strong legal case against the wolf de-listing.

Nonetheless, more than 160 formerly protected wolves have already been killed, including members of Yellowstone’s famed Cottonwood pack. Now is a crucial time in our work to save these magnificent animals, and we have to keep pushing to save these wolves.

Please make a tax-deductible donation today to help us place our next mobilization ad on a video billboard in the heart of New York City’s Times Square and keep it up through the Macy’s Day Parade and the holiday shopping season.

This new video billboard will help us reach our campaign goal of delivering 125,000 messages in support of renewed protections for our wolves to Interior Secretary Salazar.

Thanks to the compassionate support of caring people like you, our first ad has been up and running in Times Square, highlighting the terrible killing of some of America’s most beloved wolves.

We’ve mobilized more than 94,000 caring wildlife activists to call on Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to restore protections for these magnificent animals -- messages that Defenders of Wildlife’s Jamie Rappaport Clark will personally deliver to the Department of Interior before the end of the month.

But what do you think about Obama wanting to hold up a terrorist investigation? Hmmm, wonder what they might find. Perhaps as you might say, that the terrorist group is a part of Obama's "circle?"

That's all for tonight folks. Looking forward to the NFL on Sunday.

McCain Campaign Emails Contradict Palin's "Going Rogue"

"Sarah Palin's much-discussed book, "Going Rogue," hasn't even been officially released yet and already its accuracy is in question.
The Huffington Post has obtained internal McCain campaign emails -- addressed to and by the former vice presidential candidate -- that directly contradict or cast serious doubt on several of Palin's assertions. The emails were passed along by a mid-level staffer who called early excerpts of "Going Rogue", a serious mixing of truth and imagination."...."

‘Death Panels’ Hypocrisy: RNC Health Insurance Provider Promotes End-Of-Life Counseling

...."Over the summer, one of the GOP’s loudest complaints against health care legislation was a provision offering senior citizens Medicare reimbursement for end-of-life counseling. Republicans claimed it would create so-called “death panels” or urge seniors citizens to die. RNC Chairman Michael Steele “endorsed this type of rhetoric, and on July 28, the RNC put out research document claiming that the government would “dictate” Americans’“end-of-life care.”

Have you read the book? Did you fact check your post? Did you ever write an email that wasn't exactly what was going on in your head?
Doesn't Huffington have any real news to write about? From everything you have posted here from them they seem little more than a gossip rag.

What is the problem with posting something that at least explains a little about what is going on? You don't want to represent the whole story why? Apparently Republicans are trying to do more and the Democrats are obstructing. ACORN again? Illegal immigration? The Democrats seem intent on spending but not solving any problems.

"Observers of the weeks-long debate might not be surprised to learn that the sticking points remain the same: McConnell is insisting on consideration of an amendment to prevent ACORN from receiving federal funds, and another designed to filter illegal immigrants out of the workforce. The Kentucky Republican said the eight amendments Republicans are offering won’t take much longer to consider than the six provisions Reid has proposed on behalf of Democrats."

The difference comes from the government plan to advise doctors on "best practices". Your article uses the phrase "patients could choose" very very loosely. It is likely that doctors will be required to limit care to the elderly and to tell them exactly why. I don't understand why you haven't figured out why when government is mandating something it is a big deal.

Glenn Beck gets to ask dumb white-guy questions to a room full of black conservatives

"It is hard to explain to white people like Glenn Beck why their "innocent" questions about race actually just reveal their ignorance and their false assumptions about people of other races and the nature of race relations.

But Beck is so blitheringly un-self-aware that he decided to give it a go anyway yesterday on his Fox News show. As you might expect, it was a serial embarrassment.

Beck, you see, was careful to hand-select his audience, people "the media claim don't think exist" -- black conservatives! Not that he ever actually explains this to the viewing audience -- you have to figure that out for yourselves as the show goes along, like the moment when he asks the audience if they think we're headed toward socialism (they all raise their hands) or are accused of being not "black enough" if they are conservative (again, a unanimous show of hands).

And it let Beck lead exchanges like this, with Beck regular Charles Payne and talk-show host Lisa Fritsch:

Beck: How many people here identify themselves as African Americans?(About a third raise their hands) OK -- Why?

Payne: It's interchangeable.

Beck: But wait, wait. Why not identify yourself as Americans?

Fritsch: Well, people can look at you and tell you're black. You can't escape that.

Beck: Yeah, but I don't identify myself as white, or a white American.

Will Brown of the New York Republican Community Coalition points out, adroitly, that "African American" is an "evolution" from the "N word" -- and certainly is preferable. Moreover, it wasn't black people who invented the "N word" or the segregation from enjoying the full fruits of American citizenship it represented -- it was white people. "African American" represents the recognition of their dignity and their rights as Americans.

But this point sails right over Beck's head, because he's too ignorant to appreciate the implications. Had Beck even a smidgen of American history, particularly pertaining to civil rights, he'd know that white Americans for most of the decades of the past century used the word "American" and "real American" almost exclusively to refer to white people -- and that this motif lingers even today (see, e.g., Sarah Palin's references to "real Americans" during the campaign -- speaking before small-town, all-white audiences).

This historical and cultural ignorance just kept manifesting itself:...."

"old Adolph" was himself a socialist who would have had more in common with today's radical dems then not!
In fact, old Adolph Hitler was an ANTI-SOCIALIST who sent real socialists to concentration camps and firing squads.

The foolish mistake you're making is, ironically, like the one the German Communist Party made--equating Nazism with socialism--a mistake that got those dumb Communists uncozy accomodations right next to the socialists in the camps.
Now Hitler and his people used the label socialist because they knew that socialist ideals were appealing to German workers, and some peasants, middle class folk and intellectuals as well.
But when REAL socialists spoke of socialism, they had in mind a cooperative commonwealth, and often a classless society--not a RACIST and genocidal CLASS society. And for REAL socialists, socialism could certainly NOT mean suppression of all working class institutions since it was expected that the working class would lead the way to this classless society. But in the fight for such a society it was CLASS, not RACE, that essential. A Nordic master race would have been anathema to any real socialist, as one can discern if you explore the past two hundred years of socialsit thought.
Now the German Communists made a mistake similar to yours, though from a "left" perspective. They correctly noted that the Nazis were really offer a different, though obviously more brutal form of "bourgeois" rule under capitalism. They insisted that German socialists, who rejected their Stalinized Marxism, were really no different from the Nazis---just another group of phony socialists fronting for the ruling class.
You claim (from a "right" perspective), that Nazis are no different from socialists because they supposedly all socialists.
The Communists claimed (from a "left" perspective) that non-Communist, non-Stalinist socialists are basically the same as Nazis because they are (like Nazis) "phony" socialists.
Well that kind of sloppy thinking actually HELPED Hitler to power, and thus the Communists foolishly destroyed themselves.
In short, "National Socialism" (Nazism) was no more socialist, than the Stalinist east German "Democratic Peoples Republic" was democratic, popular or a republic.

Did you see the show? Do you really know what you are talking about, or are you just pasting the propaganda again?

Real Americans are capitalists who understand that our rights were endowed by our Creator, not by government. Only the socialists refuse to acknowledge that. Their agenda is threatened so they pull the race card or whatever other smear or fear tactics they think will work.

Beck is offering a platform. Where are the black conservatives on MSNBC? They don't exist in that world do they? Why not?
