What I see is the empty refrigerated space in Boucherville. From what I understand, it is more that enough space to do our QC meat work. What amazes me is that the business has not already moved Quebec business back to Quebec. They have the space, and the Labour stability. They could dump Robert, and appease the seperatists who want the work back in Quebexico. If the meat does leave Ottawa, we are in trouble. Ajax could do our daily Grocery business in a few hours.
lol...I wonder who the twit was that marked my prediction as "clueless"
I was pretty much spot on.

Feel for the guys that could not take the buy out. The guys and girls with years of service. Ottawa D.C. is done. Hard to look for work in your forties and fifties. To the people who could have but did not take the buy out..ohhhhh shit!

Darren Ryan fired and given $6000 buy out.
Others won't be as lucky when they all get the boot in March.

Your probably one of the ones who said it was going to close last time. Obviously you either work there or recently did. The fact that the company is sitting down with the union means something. Instead of being so negative how about being positive about people's jobs.

Yes they will close it as it is not in the plan. We get our deliveries faster from Ajax and other warehouses than we ever got from Ottawa.... lazy drivers. Sorry but the lethargy and stonch unionism has brought this upon the collective. All good things must come to an end. I do however feel badly for those who get pulled down with the sewage..

Well said. Nice to see these naysayers proven wrong again and again. US that have been here more than one contract know it's always the same thing every contract. Back when we went on strike we heard the same garbage. I say move on trolls

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Let's say they do close next month. Which they won't. People will get a lot more than $6000 as a buyout. Get a clue

Well, unless they replace the rest of the meat that will probably leave this year once boucherville takes it, I think Ottawa is done. We might get a short contract to get more time for everything to be ready but if we give them problems during negotiations they could make it happen now. I really dont think they need a new DC in cornwall right now, there is enough capacity (after boucherville expansion). And theig b boss is retiring in weeks in the middle of negotiations, is that a sign?

I think the sign is the company not wanting to negotiate until 2 weeks after the contract is up. They are closing it. No contract and no information from the union.

Well that's a very different tone from your previous posts, why the change. The union won't give info because they can't. Not yet at least, mutual gag order. When talks actually begin, stuff will leak out.
Oh and our severance is 1 week per year of FT service, just like what happened to the Sudbury boys. Google it.
Why is S.P. gone before talks begin? That is a bigger question. You might be right.
