Yes they will close it as it is not in the plan. We get our deliveries faster from Ajax and other warehouses than we ever got from Ottawa.... lazy drivers. Sorry but the lethargy and stonch unionism has brought this upon the collective. All good things must come to an end. I do however feel badly for those who get pulled down with the sewage..

Grow a brain? Idiot, the people who voted yes on a contract that sees them lose their job should grow a brain. Stupid Teamsters, dumb enough to vote themselves out of their own job.
And you have no idea how close it was to the doors being closed in Ottawa permanantly. The warehouse would have been emptied and locked for good had you guys turned down the last offer. That is fact. Fortunately for you guys you were too scared to face the real world outside of National. I guess you could have just reapplied to "Atlas Ottawa" a year down the road for 15/hour, once you saw what unskilled labour is worth in Ottawa.

Stocking shelves? Who are you talking to?
Local 91 voted for a contract that laid off 100 people. They are all back now, but at the time 91 did not know that, therefore people voted themselves out of their own jobs. I am not sure how I can dumb it down anymore for you to comprehend.
Had 91 turned down the second offer, it was all over, just like the morons in Quebec. There is a reason why there is only 1.5 years left guaranteed work, you'll find out.

I really think they will, roumor is its been put on hold for now. Big boss from Ottawa is heading to Ajax to help out in getting things out there to work, apparently things are not running so well. Also, another thing flying in the air is once the Cornwall DC is built, all warehouses in Quebec will be shut down and Cornwall will take over all deliveries in Quebec and eastern coast. Again, this is all hearsay, but I do know, I had a job before Loblaws and I'll have a job after Loblaws.

If the dummies in Laval are stupid enough to follow the bright Idea that the Quebec DC dummies had, then yes the DC in Cornwall will get a big green light. Unfortunately for Ottawa their fate is in the hands of the Joe Poutines in Laval. They (Laval) turned down one offer, if the next is turned down, they get a short term offer for big $$ which they will take. At the same time the heavy equipment and contracters gets fired up in Cornwall. Ottawa and Laval would have 18 months max.

Looks like the majority of Laval saw the light.
So here we are in Ottawa without job security and massive DC's all around us with long term contracts.

What I see is the empty refrigerated space in Boucherville. From what I understand, it is more that enough space to do our QC meat work. What amazes me is that the business has not already moved Quebec business back to Quebec. They have the space, and the Labour stability. They could dump Robert, and appease the seperatists who want the work back in Quebexico. If the meat does leave Ottawa, we are in trouble. Ajax could do our daily Grocery business in a few hours.

So the acquisition of Shoppers is complete. Now loblaws has a big brand new 3rd party DC running he same technology in a prime location at their disposal. Now more than ever QC wants their meat work back. Here we are in the last year of a no work guarantee contract in an old crumbling warehouse. We must be hanging on by a thread...

I'm thinkin they're closin it this time. Cornwall's due to open December 2015 or sooner and I'm gonna guess that's what'll shut us down for good. But yeah, 40% warehouseperson cuts once Boucherville gets the entirety of the meat department.
