CITIBANK IS THE WORST BANK IN THE WORLS. THESE PEOPLE ARE RIPOFFS. I DID NOT REALIZE THAT IF YOU MAKE MORE THAN THE MINIMUM PAYMENT EACH MONTH THAT THEY QUIT SENDING PAPER STATEMENT, WHICH THEY DID TO ME. WITH NO STATEMENT I DID NOT MAKE A PAYMENT IN DECEMBER. ON THE NEXT STATEMENT I WAS CHARGED A LATE FEE AND THE INTEREST RATE WENT FROM 0% TO 32.24%. I CALLED TO COMPLAIN AND WAS TOLD I WAS LATE WITH MY NOVEMBER PAYMENT TOO, WHICH I WAS NOT. I WAS TOLD SINCE I MADE THE PAYMENT EARLY IT WAS APPLIED TO OCTOBER. I WAS CHARGED A LATE FEE OF 39.00. WHEN THEY REALIZED THEY HAD MADE THE ERROR THEY GAVE ME A CREDIT FOR THE LATE CHARGE, BUT THEY ONLY GAVE ME A CREDIT OF 26.00. I WILL NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS BANK AGAIN. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A BANK CAN GET AWAY WITH SUCH BEHAVIOR.

Citibank is crooked. I have a check for $18.89 issued from Citibank (South Dakota). I took the check to a bank called "Citibank" at 2929 Mchenry Ave in Modesto, Ca to cash. This dumb Blond refused to cash the check because it was a different Citibank. The woman should be committed and the manager of that branch should be promoted. Even branches of Citibank know they are not to be trusted. Does anyone at Citibank have at least a GED. I might talk to that person.

Happens here too. Had a payroll check which I took DIRECTLY to the bank of origin.

I was informed at the counter that the bank was not a checque cashing service.

Excuse me? What is the big aversion to banks giving you your money in CASH? This "money" they supposedly have is right at that branch. They don't have to go far to verify it. It probably has something to do with the "fractional reserve" banks operate on. If everyone wanted to draw their money in cash (we do have that right don't we?) for checques drawn from that bank, they would default. There is no reason for any bank within the same operation to be able to verify funds at any other branch within seconds. If the original checque has not been post dated and cleared then they have no reason to clear your funds. In CASH please, I don't want a hold on MY money.

What's the problem?

i have master card of citi bank one of the sales people called me two month ago to offer me loan in order to balance my credit card to zero and she promised that as soon as i sign the papers which she send me to hurghada (as there are only citi bank in cairo) the money will be transacted to my credit card and the loan on the credit card will be zero she said nothing about me need to go to cairo to sign any papers as i can,t leave my work for even one day to the end of july. i signed nothing been transacted and i stii pay extra intersts since two month even benalties. i contacted 18 person in the bank no one help i hope somebody can help me. please teach your staff not to missguied a customer as will teach them to do there promises

Citi gave my information to a collection agency to contact me and harass me over money owed to them by someone with my last name who lived somewhere within 50 miles from me, and I know they gave my number away, collectors knew what accounts I had with them.(I'll bet there's a few dozen people with my last name here, should I be responsible for all?). I prohibited them, verbally and in writing, to contact me or to give my info away for whatever reason, or I'll report them to FTC and State Attorney General's office, it stopped them for 6 months, then they started bugging me to find out why am I not using their card. I've had bad experience with other companies as well, but these people are worse than all the filth from BofA, ATT and Verizon combined. Account closed, I'm through with them.

How's this one for you.

We pay off a 15K balance because they hiked our rates up after katrina (we had no way to make a payment but they still hiked us up to the max). After 5 years of making money off of us then close our account.

But it get's better, we made an overpayment to them when we paid it in full. When we called to inquiry why they closed the account we also requested that they send us back our overpayment.

It's been almost a year and no check.

We called them 2 months ago and they said they were going to look into it and we should receive an answer within 30 days. But 30 days past and nothing, so we called again. This time they tell us that we can not request the funds by phone, we have to do it in writing.

So we sent a letter, certified, demanding that our money be sent back to us within 30 days. We did not ask for any more or less then what is due back to us,(no interest, penalties; just our cash).

No answer...!!

We call back on the 31st day, and they tell us that no one is working on it. The letter is in the legal dept and that we should just be patient.

Patient? It's been 9 months, how much more patient does one need to be?

Then one of the reps, who i am assuming must be a disgruntled employee, mentioned that we should just sue them because that is the only way they will react.

It must be nice to have money to burn on laywers for absolutely nothing.

My son and I have gone round and round with Citibank credit card. He was signed up for "Credit Protector", even though he was not the primary card holder (I was.) But when he called to cancel, he was told I had to cancel. How can he sign up but yet not cancel.$$$$ I also talked to the President's office and they convinced me that my son was wrong, that he had signed up on the phone, even though they couldn't provide a transcript or copy of the tape. Then he talked to another customer service person recently and she advised him that he could still get a refund of $370 because he had moved and provided him with a timeline of phone calls to make it happen. He was to "reactivate" the program, wait so many days, call to get moving refund, wait so many days, and then call to cancel the service which is free for 30 days. He followed her exact timeline and was told he couldn't have a refund, that was on another plan.
So, he said - Cancel the program! They informed him that the Primary cardholder had to cancel. As you can see, I'm hot to have to take this much energy to deal with these insincere and STUPID people! We are closing all of our Citybank stuff
ASAP.

Iam Doctor Haitham Ismail from cairo,Egypt. Iam writing to you to complain of the corruption of the system of citibank in Egypt.I bought a car on feb 2007 by loan from citibank, so my brother did. There was an offer to get a mastercard, as the bank called me, and a representative brought the application to me at home, and i filled the application on 29/3/2007, so did my brother. He received his mastercard after a week, but i didn't till now 19/5/2007. The amazing thing is that they told me that my mastercard was issued on 13/5/2007, but the bank close it the next day, as it was issued by mistake????? How comes???????? I called over 100 times, and no response. Really am sorry for the corruption, but me and my brother have the same conditions exactly except his name is Hany and am Haitham?????????? My account number is 0150046505. Please help me , i want my mastercard as my brother received his card, it's my right, but i don't know what to do, so i complain to the main branch of citibank, to call citibank here in Egypt, cairo, and solve me the problem,,, please concern.

CITIBANK HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
In this day and age, customer service even for the smallest company is satisfactory. Citibank customer service employees not only are unable to speak English, they are worthless otherwise. They kept me on the phone for NO apparent reason (not talking, but apparently not looking up my info. either), refused to give me the information I needed, and frankly wasted my time.
This was the most frustrating phone call for help I have ever made.

I received a notice of debt collection 10-6-07 on my husbands account he died August 9 2007. The account was paid in full. I never received any notice of funds owed until this notice. The account was closed but I recently received new credit cards from them. I called and told someone about the problem. I of course tore up the new cards. Citibank needs to keep accurate records. I hope this problem can be resolved but I feel I am being harrassed by an error of Citibank.

THEY OUTSOURE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO INDIA TO EXPLOIT THEIR ECONOMY. YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND THEM. THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY. THERE RUDE, AND THIS WILL BE THER DOWNFALL. THE SERIVE INDUSTRY IS BUILT CUSOMER SERIVE AND THEY WILL LOSE A MILLION DOLLARS IN LOANS A MONTH FROM MY COMPANY ALONE.

i agree.. citi needs to do something about their customer service... i just got off the phone about a loan request...(which I am starting to regret)... i'll just state one of many problems i had with this rep on this particular call... basically... i held for about 5 mins.. not really that long... but when I was asked to find my account number, i asked the rep to hold... she said "i can only hold for 1 and a half mins.... seriously... what the %^&*!!!

Got a call from some lady who was trying to collect on a 600.00 credit card that I did not know I had. She said the card was issued in 1988 and my last payment was made in 1992. My wife passed away in 1991 from cancer. She always handled our bills as I have a problem dealing with people. Marine Vietnam Vet with PTSD.The 1st thing this slut said was that she was with BofAM. I recently had a loan with them so I beleive that is how she found the info on me. I beleived she was with BofAM as she said my last 4 social sec #. Then she statrt with Citi Bank. I said I have never heard of it. She demanded I make payment within 3 days. I told her I would not as I know this is not my bill.She became so assy and then I would be receiving papers soon.I have looked at a recent copy of my credit report and I see no mention of this account.I did tell her that it was like close to 20 years and if I did owe it she would not be able to collect. Even if I did owe this, I thought there was a time for them to collect this dept. One that I do not know anything about. I think this is a scam of some kind. Credit reporting agencies say if it is seven years old ther have no right to be contacting me. Anyone know anything about citi banks crap like this happening to them. I mean 20 years ago and they looking for 600.00 bucks.

The worst!!!! I hate this bank and their 'dumb','unprofessional' and 'non caring' customer service staffers. I repeatedly asked for billing records for my Shell Oil account as per a court request and was told it would take 6-8 weeks. I missed a court date and when I called to speak to a supervisor she said I needed to put the request in writting. I'm screwed again! I will never, ever do any type of banking with these people...no on cares.

You were not "misinformed" of the request to cash a Citibank Deleware check issued to you at the Financial Branch. Branches " can not" cash these items.
