As an associate with Penneys for four years now, this is the best news this company has gotten since he took over.

Yes, but the damage has been done. Can we come back, the new designers aren't all that great. The new furnitures a joke!

The moment coupons started showing up in the mail, I knew it was just a matter of time before they came back, and that's considering I didn't get them before and I don't even have a JCPenney card anymore. The sad part were all the people who lost their jobs. Kinda wondering how management is going to handle the news to the employees considering they were behind Johnson all the way and kept telling the employees to stay positive and make the best of all the changes. These changes were suppose to make the company better.

Can't wait for the morning meeting tomorrow, lol. It should be very interesting.
Our store leader is a total gung ho for Ron. He started working at Penneys when he was sixteen, worked there all through college and then started working his way up to manager. He was one of the youngest ever store managers two years ago. He has never held a job with any other company or employer.
I remember just a few months ago he was telling us that the company has billions of dollars and everything was going to be great. Lately, he has been showing the desperation the higher ups must be feeling that we need customers.
Also, he was crowing about how we sold more units in 2012 than in 2011. Imagine that. With a loss of nearly a billion dollars in sales revenues, the company sold more units. I guess we were inadvertently telling the truth when we joked that the company was practically giving stuff away.

Trust me, Kaley, we were NOT behind RJ all the way! His changes made our lives miserable BUT we had to "walk the walk & talk the talk" out of fear for our jobs. It's all been hashed out on these chats--ad nauseum. We know that there is much to do to repair the company's reputation. Today is a new day & we will all be standing a little straighter & smiling A LOT more at work.

I wonder if he quit because of that salary cut. A nice kick in the pants to get him out the door. If not, was nice that they did it before showing him the door, a little payback is hell. I wonder if Ronnie still has that crap eating smile of his. Will be interesting to see if he keeps that Steve Jobs' knockoff look.

I don't think he "quit". I think he was asked to resign. The sales and coupons have been back for a few weeks. I don't see him reinstating this. I think this was in the works and he was aware.

I also don't think he "quit", otherwise i would have expected to have watched some video like we did before. Everything is always planned out.
