2. Dendrimer modified MWCNTs has excellent performances.
Owing to their unique optical, electrical, magneticand mechanical properties, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted worldwide attention in the fields of nanoscience, nanotechnology, and bioengineering. However, now multi-walled carbon nanotubes in polymer composites is limited by its polymerization tendency and poor dispersion. Using polyamido - amine dendrimer modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), prepared a dendrimer / carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-g-PAMAM) nano composites. In polar solvent such as water, methanol and ethanol, the composite material has good dispersibility. Infrared spectra showed that the graft-modification is covalent bonding of MWCNTs and PAMAM, thermal gravimetric analysis data indicate that PAMAM successfully modified on MWCNTs sidewalls, and grafted onto MWCNTs. The amount of PAMAM varies with their generation (G1.0 ~ G4.0), the specific order is G2.0> G1.0 ≈ G3.0> G4.0. Weihai CY Dendrimer Technology Co.
