I think that is wonderfull. Her daughter could not conceive and her mother helped cause nobody else would. What a lovely thing. If my children ever asked me to do that, I would. It is going to be your grandbabies.

Do they do ARTIFICIAL insemination in Brazil?

Or did they have to go the old fashioned route?

What a beautiful thing to do, and who better than the grandmother to help out? You don't have to worry about the surrogate mother changing her mind and deciding the keep the babies, since they already belong to both the mom and the grandmother. This is just great!

Eventho I suport surrogate mothers, this is plain sick!
With all good intentions, why would you have your own mother as a surrogate for you?My husband is about ready to puke by the thought of it,eventho its a lab-procedure!

There are laws against that. The surrogate may change her mind if she pleases, however, since it is in NO WAY her child, she has no right to it.

I think it was a wonderful thing for the grandmother to do - I do not understand why anyone thinks it is "sick" or "weird". We are talking about the BIRTH of two precious babies - it is not about SEX.

That's good because I remember that happening a few years ago, with surrogate mothers changing their minds and bonding with the baby. Still, I think this grandmother is heroic for carrying these babies for her daughter. What a story to tell your grandchildren.

I think it is wonderful!!! She received 'embryos', folks. She carried life for her daughter. Having experienced infertility myself for years, I know the joy the new mom must have. I now have a beautiful, healthy 17 month old son. I would be devastated to miss the opportunity God gave us to mother. Awesome, just awesome.
