Oubaali Defeats Theophane
“I touched him a lot of times, but I can't finish him because he was just running, and I don't like fighters that run”
- If there's one thing Ali Oubaali learned Friday in a 10-round junior welterweight fight with Ashley Theophane at Mohegan Sun, it's that he's ready for bigger things. Oubaali, a native of France based out of New York , won by unanimous decision. Two judges scored it 96-93, and one 97-92 for Ouballi, who now wants a shot at the WBA welterweight title.
Oubaali (21-3, 17 KOs) lived up to his nickname, 'The Hurricane,' landing a dizzying array of blows. He was unhappy he couldn't knock Theophane out, but his trainer, Don Saxby, disagreed. 'I'm happy that he went 10 rounds, because the last fight, he only went four,' Saxby said. Read more

I was at the fight, and Oubaali was the only boxer to get the crowd on its feet!!!
Definitely deserves a title fight next. |
