I don't see this as a fight that should be considered too late, since they were in seperate weight classes. I do however, consider it a meaningless fight, and I pray that it won't be a pay per view fight.
Regardless of when this fight would have or will take place, Trinidad has a snowballs chance in hell fighting anyone with a modicum of movement. He couldn't handle De La Hoya in his prime. I can't imagine anyone being interested in this "Fight".
A more reasonable fight, and one that I think more fans would prefer, would be a rematch with De La Hoya. Neither man is in his prime, both have a few losses under their belt, and physically much closer to each other, and personally, I would love to see De La Hoya knock him out.
