Calzaghe relinquishes world title

Joe Calzaghe has vacated his WBC super-middleweight title to free him up for a potential fight with Roy Jones Jr at light-heavyweight later in the year.

Only in our beloved sport could a guy coming of two consecutive defeats get a title shot. Jermaine Taylor will probably defeat Froch but he should have to earn the title shot by facing some tough contenders first and racking up a win or two.
I wish Joe and Kelly would have met for a really world-class showdown. Still the "swan song" fight of great champions like Calzaghe and Jones will be very interesting. I won't miss it.
