Most observers agree that Mendoza clearly won the fight with Lacey ; if not the official victory. I fear our sport is still dogged with corruption borne of the powerful influence of big money. As for the proposed Taylor-Lacey match,I would expect a Taylor victory similar to the Lacey-Calzaghe ass-whipping. No one could ever call a fight with Left-hook Lacey an easy fight. Lacey is tough, aggressive, and courageous. Fighters like Taylor,Pavilk and Calzaghe also possess all these attributes along with boxing skill and ring savvy. Except for the rare exception a fighter with great skill will defeat a fighter with lessor skill when other factors are near equal. A Taylor-Lacey fight should be a easy fight to predict...Taylor by a decision or late round knock-0ut. I'd rather see Jeff in the ring with Mendoza again...that was a competitive fight.
