This is how the story made it to the news....the family won't let this go, it wasn't right and they want it acknowledged and rectified.

Everyone who has been arrested as a result of a bar fight in NT.....Contact your attorneys, you have been discriminated against by NT's finest. They seem to have their priorities a little mixed up. Maybe if they weren't being DNA tested to determine the father of one of their dispatchers new baby, they could focus on doing their jobs.

The Wards say they are for change because they need jobs and want to enhance their pensions and take even more from us taxpayers. Give Baby Joe Mesi a chance!

I see a lot of people simply repeat what their friends have told them. Joe Mesi does great for the community, or Joe Mesi is a drugged out thug. Fact: i talked to Joe about getting in a bar fight before. approx quote: 'I've never been in a bar fight before, i hope to never get in one. if i win ill probably get in trouble with the law, they'll try and say my hands are deadly weapons. what a joke that is. It'd be even worse if i lost. I'd never hear the end of it, if a professional boxer lost to some kid in a bar.' (conversation in late February after i show up to an internship with a black eye)

I don't know Baby Joe personally; but I what I hear though the press & the other sources that know of him; he wouldn't throw a punch at anyone outside the ring because it would't be worth the hasle with the law & etc.
I'm not sure if he's in my district but I'd vote for him any way. Because he's got some fresh & bright ideas & that what this area needs big time.

I don't know the guy personally, but I did have the opportunity to meet him once while out to dinner. Every time the poor guy tried to put his food to his mouth some inconsiderate "fan" would walk up and ask for either a picture or an autograph.
Every time he very politely put down his fork and either signed his autograph or got up for a picture.
Sitting right next to him, I was getting kind of aggravated by how inconsiderate people were being (at least give the poor guy a chance to eat!). His girlfriend told us this went on every time they go out. We ended up staying at the restaurant just to see how long it would go on and it took the poor guy 45 minutes to eat his dinner. AFTER he ate we had a very nice conversation with him and he was nothing but cordial and understanding of the situation (I give him a lot of credit).
Not trying to say the incident didn’t happen but I think he understands the repercussions a bar fight would bring, especially right after announcing a candidacy for office!
