Why is Billboard always promoting (tacky) K-pop?

Does anyone else smell payola?
K-pop (as The Atlantic recently pointed out) has failed NUMEROUS times in the USA.
But over and over again journalists keep writing up this sick, sad, lame music as the next big thing here.
Who is greasing whose palms? There is a documented history of payola in Korea and I think they brought it here too.
Sure Psy had some success on youtube with Gangnam Style, but that's the ONLY K-pop song that any Americans have listened to in 20 years.
And it wasn't even released in the USA as a single. It's the video people liked, not the crappy K-pop style music. The single would go nowhere in the USA.
Basically K-pop is garbage and Americans don't want to hear it. So why does Billboard, for instance, keep promoting it? How much dough is greasing Billboard's fingers?
I mean, these K-pop companies are pretty shady. Search for: K-pop slave contracts, K-pop payola, K-pop plagiarism. Even the Village Voice has a nice review of a really crappy, lame K-pop group.
Money has to be exchanging hands at this point.
There's no other reason why anyone would promote this garbage music.
Billboard - we don't want to hear the garbage these scumbag companies are providing.
