I FEEL BAD FOR THE FAMILY. I WATCHED THE WHOLE THING UNTIL HE FELL TO THE FLOOR AND AT NO TIME DURING THE SHOOT OUT DID HE TURN THE GUN AROUND AND SHOOT HIMSELF. ITS VERY IGNORANT OF THE BOSTON POLICE TO SAY THAT HE DID BECAUSE THERE WAS ENOUGH OF WITNESSES AND POLICE THERE TO KNOW THAT HE DID NOT KILL HIMSELF THE BOSTON POLICE SHOT AND KILLED HIM AND THE NEXT DAY POLICE EVEN LAUGHED ABOUT THE SITUATION. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PROTECTING US HA SOME JOB THEY ARE DOING HUH SHOOTING YOUNG CHILDREN DEAD THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED THAT THEY KILLED SOMEONES SON , BROTHER , COUSIN AND SOON TO BE FATHER. GOD REST HIS SOUL
If you saw everything then maybe you should try to see what you can do. If it is the cops fault people need to know. I hate cops for this reason alone so many of them are on power trips and do whatever they want because they know there will be no action taken against them just because of who they are

Honestly I have to say that I think race does play a part in it. I find it hard to believe that cops would shoot a white boy down from Brookline or any other suburb and it is not that white boys are violent I mean if you look at most of the school shootings it is white boys going crazy. I understand returning fire if you are shoot on, but this kid was shot fifteen times right, they can't all be from his gun. What happened to taking a suspect down, street executions should not be standard operating procedure and yet they seem to be. How many black men or minorities have died by the bullet of a cops gun when they have been unarmed. LIke it or not 21st century or not cops draw and shoot on blacks more and until some real outrage is shown by citizens of all colors it will be business as usual. It is not like whites don't commit crimes but for whatever reason they seem to be taken into custody instead of executed on site even when they are armed and dangerous. My sincere condolensces to the family and community.

The problem is also "guns"! Why is it that the city of boston cannot get these guns off the street? Why can they not stop the sale of illegal guns? Why can they not crack down on gun dealers? Why is it that they won't? If you run around carrying a gun then there is a good chance that you will use it or feel that you have to. There is something wrong with this kind of thinking. Children and young adults should not be thinking this way. The Boston Police Department cannot sit around like sitting ducks waiting to be shot dead by some young kid with a gun. They have to protect themselves.

Do you have bad eggs on the force? Yes, of course. When is the community as a whole going to step up to this gang violence that is holding the community hostage and shortening the life spans of their children?

The entire community is under a tremendous amount of stress and blaming the cops will not solve the very real problem.

This calls for some real action on the part of the mayor, the police commissioner, the police, and the community.

Perhaps its time for a NEW mayor AND police commissioner.

the police and mayor HAVE tried. if you can remember a few years back, they had officers riding the MBTA because of the violence, and what happened? the screams of racial profiling could be heard from boston to maine! which is usually the case when the authorities try to make a difference. shortly after they pulled the officers from the buses, a black pregnant woman was shot by a black teenager!
as far as the community goes, they're all cowards who would rather stay trembling in their seection8 apartments, rather then do anything about the problems. seems like they also got what they asked for.
You sound like a disgusting angry RACIST!! If you are not going to add any constructive conversation to this thread please DO NOT reply to me again! I HATE RACISTS!!

Not at all. I just HATE RACISTS!! They always have NOTHING to contribute to conversations. Only a bunch of racist stereotyping. Please do not reply to my posts anymore because I am looking to discuss this very real issue that inflict these communities. Looking for anyone who may want to discuss real solutions and act upon them not racists. I am sure you can understand that but probably not because racists are not the most rational thinkers.

on the contrary. I think they (rjs) hit on a very valid point. how many times in how many states have we seen just what they are talking about. the cries of racial profiling are taking tools right out of the police officers hands, and then the activists cry foul when the police can't stop the violence. it seems to be you that has a racist chip on your shoulder, not the other way. please take your head out of the sand and see where the problems exist.

THAT is NOT the part of his/her reply that I had a problem with! I would of gladly discussed that part of the reply because it is a REAL issue within the community BUT when he/she got to the statement that EVERYONE in the community is living in section 8 apartments showed nothing more then the FACT that this person is NOTHING MORE THAN A RACIST and that fact and statement made everything else he/she said IRRELEVANT and warranted no real discussion from that moment on.

So YOU do NOT know what YOU are talking about!

Blame the police,
blame society
blame no money GIVEN to us
blame the mayor

Hmmm..I see a pattern, do you?
Things will NEVER change until this community changes it's internal thought process of children raising...
And much more, sadly I do not feel to positive about that...

That is only a "small" part of the problem.

it is a tragedy when someone young dies, but it seems as if he chose his own path. He was probably distraught over his lost friend and wanted to go out like most of these "gangsters" do which is shooting at the police and knowing your gonna die. I don't think this is a self inflicted suicide but I do believe he wanted to die when he fired on the cops.

This is today's society, its everywhere, dorchester, new bedford, brockton, these "gangsters" are everywhere and are ruining the communities. Yes most of them do live in section 8 housing and recieve free assistance and patterson will continue the handouts but will not fix the problems.
