Back in 1952, Socratis Tingas heard there was a vacant restaurant in Lowell. Tingas was a romantic, and this was his dream.

My family has been going to The Olympia for at least 40 years--and I can't remember a time Socratis wasn't sitting up front. In fact, a month ago I visited after two years away (we moved) and there he was--we discussed the economy and the restaurant which was "doing fine." I'm sure he'll be missed.

This is a wonderful restaurant!My husband and I have enjoyed the lemon chicken rice soup for over 30 years. When we are in Lowell this is our first restaurant preference. May the Olympia live on!! Condolences to the family.
