In this case, it's not a real sign of madness, just the conviction that lying is justified when dealing with critics of scientology: the use of multiple sock puppets does not nag the conscience when you have been convinced that critics are somehow sub-human.

This poster actually reveals an interesting part of the Scientology mindset. He looks down on the mentally ill, despite thinking he has the ultimate science of the mind which should be able to help them. In his world, everyone is ultimately responsible for their own condition so the disabled of any kind are 'down-stats' who 'pulled it in.' However, their hatred of anything psychiatric in nature is especially intense.

Good point slick. If you were to go back to posts made in early 2007 you'd see some examples of that. I didn't agree with Dermot or Peter but there were signs of intelligent life there.

There are no members of Anonymous. There are no leaders of Anonymous. Anonymous is a group of individuals united by a common goal and acting under their own power.

Scientology is a religion that abuses its members, which makes it fit the dictionary definition of a cult. Silly as it may or may not be in its doctrines, people go bankrupt, lose their families, and even die because they follow Scientology.

Let's be clear here. Anonymous does not neccesarily have the good of the people in mind. Many of Anonymous are joining the battle to have something to fight. Some do it for the laughs. Some do it because they genuinely believe that Scientology is evil. But the common goal in mind here is that ALL the Anonymous fighting Scientology believe that it needs to be challenged, and furthermore, dismantled.

The forces of Anonymous fighting CoS are only a fraction of our ranks, only the ones who have an interest in fighting CoS.

For the supporters of the Church of Scientology or even more, those who are against Anonymous, you need only look to history to gain some perspective. While some of you may believe that criminal activity (specifically hacking in this case) is wrong, you must fully understand the context of LAW. It is a constantly evolving thing for a reason. Just as it was once legal and considered perfectly acceptable to murder African Americans because it was whole heartedly believed that their lives do not count as human lives would, so now must we rise up above the chains of laws from time to time in order to bring justice. It may seem ironic but the most revolutionary historical heroes of justice, love, peace, and equality have been labeled the terrorists of their time and carried the burden of their optimistic beliefs about the importance of those things the fought for. The courageous men and women of the past who have died for virtuous causes should not have died in vain. We may be slow but we need to realize that laws are sometimes unjust and the legal system can be this way too. The Church of Scientology is an oppressive, controlling, and malicious force that must be stopped before they build a regime that Hitler would be envious of. The way some people speak about Anonymous as a gang makes me sick. Have we not yet learned that we must oppose vicious tyranny and all the forms of control that accompany it? Have we not yet seen from the very legal proceedings we are discussing that anyone who speaks out against this dangerous dominating church is punished severely with both unconstitutional law suits and unrelenting harassment? We need to be aware of this growing power and stop it before it turns into another spanish inquisition where the church had deadly authority against those deemed heretics? Peace be with those who fight for the things in this life worth fighting for. Anonymous is not a gang, a cult, or anything related. Anonymous is you and me and every person who sees injustice and strives for a world without it's oppression. It is Anonymous that drives people to refuse to turn away from a cause that is just, even if it means staring into the barrel of a gun and not turning away. It is Anonymous that drives me to speak out now when I hear such ignorant and dangerous support for the so called Church of Scientology.
