You take away any merits of this place when you start asking for a full liquor license and then follow it up with a statement that you don't want alcohol to be your business.

I'd rather take the family out to a non-alcohol bakery type establishment for dessert so you won't be seeing us there. That's the problem with all these "down-town" places. They all claim to want to cater to families but the first chance they get it's all about the alcohol license. At least the drunks will have a warm place to do their puking.

"I don't want to be a bar...but I'd like one of the three remaining valuable licenses in case a family comes in and wants some cheese cake and a scotch & soda. I'm also gonna stay open until 1am. Not to prove I could handle a full service bar, but because I believe there will be an enormous desire for people to watch a band, do some dancing, and have a bowl of Chocolate Mousse. But remember, I do not want a bar. No way!"

Nice to be so negative. LaTazza proved to be a classy place and Ms.DiAmicis now wants to move a step up. Go to one of the nice dessert bars on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester and you hardly see anyone "puking". This is an after dinner crowd who is willing to pay top dollar for great desserts and maybe an after dinner drink or a specialty coffee. Absolutely no reason Leominster couldn't do the same - better to give her a license than some sleazy Keno palace!
Good Luck

Looking forward to going here. What a fantastic idea, I hope you do very well. To all the nay sayers, if you have an issue with the place just don't go. For the rest of us, enjoy the yummy desserts.

Just hope she decides on a business model and hours of operation and sticks with it. I tried to support this business when it first started out as a place to get a coffee. I figured go local vs to D&D. The hours were very inconsistent and after several attempts to support it I gave up.

I give it 3 months, so if she gets a license she can become a bar, or the doors close.

It was a joke....Although they are called the "twin" cities....Must not be identical twins as one is a lot uglier than the other.
Good joke! No comparison between the two cities any more, they are going in opposite directions.

Too bad only Leominster gets nice things like this. Wong would probably want it in Fitchburg but she'd empty the place out once she ate there. That and who would want to be in a "romantic" place with her.

Looks like a bar to me. Was wondering when alcohol would be mentioned as I read the article. I can't imagine that there's a big demand for this, especially with a lot of people not dining out as much.
who can afford to drop 20 bucks for dessert after dinner?

Destare is very similar, right down to the decor.

But you knew that already.

i'm excited someplace other than dennys and the tankard will be open on a weekend night. Instead of being so damn negative maybe we should be happy that a nice classy place will be someplace to go on a weekend. NOONE is going to go get trashed and puke on expensive cocktails, thats for cheep beer at a cheep bar, even with a full liquor liscense theres no way this will turn into a trashy bar, i welcome the change

Yup, but the fear of getting mugged going to it makes it a tad different.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
