As long as there's money in it, designers are going to continue designing, manufacturers are going to continue making, and retailers are going to continue selling over-sexy, non-age appropriate clothes for kids and teens. If adults stop buying it, demand goes away. It's a simple equation. But i have yet to meet many parents who are willing to buck retail trends and actually say "no" when their 14-yr old wants to wear stillettos and bustier to prom.

While I agree that most of the time Halloween costumes drift towards the more risque attire, there is one thing about Halloween that people seem to forget - if any time was more appropriate to be something or someone else, it's this night.

Being sexy and sultry for most people is not an easy task. For me personally, it's definately not easy. As a full-figured gal, I can't walk around the street on Halloween night with my middle showing, the attention I'd get would not be the positive kind.

However, I find people or things I can go as that will let me play up my features, including my full figure.

During this evening, I always try to live by the addage passed down by Rocky Horror - Don't Dream it, Be it. If at all other times you are proper, embrace this night of donning a costume to become what you are dressing as, and to enjoy doing so.

Mary - I agree with you about the parents of these children who are wearing clothes like this; they think it is more hip and great to be their child's friend than to be a disciplinarian and a parent. Morality has taken a toll in society and everyone is suffering no matter what the person's age.

Tara - a woman who respects herself can be HOTTTT without having to walk around half naked. Don't you realize that men are drooling over you because of what you imply you are offering? What I want to know is who gave the purported journalist a badge and told them they were the "big skin sheriff of the area".
