Naked children at play I've got children on the brain this morning. Just read another report decrying Dakota Fanning's new movie "Hounddog" that probably won't get a distribution deal because of a rape scene ...

Dear Screen Rant: The reason it turned out, in the filmation sense, to be a bad movie is because they had to chop it to pieces to keep it legal. Even then, it was still ugly in content. You can only do so much to "sanitize" a film that revolved solely around child sex and depravity in general!

Don't worry. Dakota wasn't actually molested. However, she was called upon to directly enact being raped and other sexual scenes with adult actors on a film set. That's what makes "Hounddog" virtually (and terribly) unique in the history of feature films. Usually, such things are only done in out-and-out porn movies. That's what all the concern is about.

If they've done this to Dakota, where will it all end? And what will it do to her heart. And what about her own safety when the stalkers start to show up? This is what happened to other child stars like Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields when they made movies like this... only not as bad as "Hounddog". That (Jessie take note) is why you need to worry about her.

Dear Daniel: With any luck, it'll never come to theaters. However, it may be impossible to keep it from DVD. If that happens and you see it, just remember that, bad as it is, it doesn't take in all that was edited out to make it legal. THAT is what the majority of the controversy is all about.
