Ms. McCauley has some good points and she misses in a couple of places.
First when Harry meets up with Riddle in the forest he is not unarmed. He has knowledge he has gained and he has a wand. The knowledge tells him that he does not need the wand and that he should not resist.
Second, the mythical jesus does not come back alive to be with his friends. According to myth he goes to heaven. A closer comparison would be that of Prometheus who after giving man the knowledge of fire was chained to a rock, where his liver was eaten everyday until Hercules frees him allowed to rejoin his friends.
But if you wanted to compare him to religious "saviours" then you should have listed more of them. Like the following:
- Krishna (India) - Sakia (Hindu) - Thamuz (Syria) - Wittoba (Telingonese) - Iao (Nepal) - Hesus (Druidic Celts) - Quexalcote (Mexico) - Thulis (Egypt) - Indra (Tibet)
There are a host of others.
I hope everyone enjoys the Deathly Hallows as much as I did.

However, after reading Harry's return from Death, the book I immediately thought of was The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

lefty,
According to Dumbledore there is no magic that can really bring back the dead (Socerer's Stone). Also, I seem to recall, and when I get home I will verify this, that when Harry asked Dumbledore if he (Harry) were dead the reply was no. When Harry asked Dumbledore if he were dead the answer was yes.
So my interpretation of that entire chapter was that Harry had the choice to either allow himself to die or to continue to live. But the entire book series indicated that his destiny would not allow for him to choose death without first taking care of Tom Riddle.
I have not read "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". It sounded far to religiously based for my taste. From what I hear it was designed to make it easier to indoctrinate children into xtian mythology.

The Epilogue was dreadful. But i really enjoyed the book. Poor Fred <3 Tonk and Remus as well?...It didn't even explain HOW they died?... Richard x

Yeah I wanted to know how they (Remus and Tonks) died too and the Epilogue wasn't J.K. Rowling's best piece of work, but I loved the book. I really hope that she deicides to write more.

We are talking about a book? Ha it sounds to me that no one az read the book between the lines. The book if u read it was twisty turny all da way from da start to end. J.K.R made it perfect sense. she made sure there was ansear to everything dat happend in the book, it was just hard to inderstand. The point is tho... it is a book and really it does not matter wot ne1 thought owt shud ov n wot shud not ov happend. It was written and finished and if u didn't like it. U say it ur head u dnt av 2 tell da world urs views

To pgjg:
Please at least attempt some proper english before your input about, of all things, a piece of literature.
I enjoyed Ms. Rowling's stories immensely. Though I must say the Epilogue did feel very "fan fiction" oriented. Assuming once her HP encyclopdia comes out that will answer alot of our questions!!

Well, I luved the book. I thought that J.K. Rowling did a great job and I agree with pgjg. I think that there was an answer to everything, you just had to look for it and really make sense of it. I luv the way she writes because you can never really guess what's going to happen next. Like, you can stay up till 2 am in the morning just reading it because you can't put it down. I think that says something. And it did remind me a bit of The Chronicles of Narnia, which was a good thing to me because C.S. Lewis is also a very talented author.

i loved all her books and hope she decides to write more, i love it when i'm listening to a movie or researching something on the net and come across a name or character that is in the hp books it just makes me think she researched her research i do think she is just marvelous. i am hoping she changes her mind as it was a little weird finishing the book 19 years later when harry's, ron's and draco's kids start at hogwarts, maybe a new generation of the potter/weasley families is where she could go.and lastly as a 37 year old, i too stayed up until my eyes blured over and lived on three hours sleep before picking up the book again. and thats what j.k was wanting to do was get people reading. the last book i remember reading was in year 10 i was 15. i also got 6 other people reading her books. but i will say every two years i re-read them and i've never picked up any other books

I think JK Rowling is fantastic I really do hope she writes more on the Harry Potter series. and yes I agree it's strange how it's all stopped when it coulf of been recreated but at least that gives someone else the opportunity to do so.
