These days you will see people carrying a variety of bags around, including a jute bag as they go about their daily lives. They are considered by many as one of the best type of bags to use. The simple reason behind this decision is that unlike many of the other types that are produced in the world today this particular bag is made from natural materials. You will find that they are known by other names in various countries.
For instance in the United States they are called burlap bags, in other countries you will hear them being referred to as Hessian bags or gunny bags. While the names might be different the purpose they perform is the same. We are used to using plastic bags of varying colours, thicknesses and strengths, and while they can carry a certain amount of weight they will distort and tear before too much time has passed.
A jute bag on the other hand is made from the fibers of a naturally growing plant which has the added benefits of growing very fast. This means that you have a sustainable source for harvesting and using jute. As the fibers from this plant is what is used to produce these jute/Hessian/burlap bags they are environmentally friendly, carbon-dioxide neutral and they will decompose without causing any damage to the environment.
The construction of the bag itself lends it to being able to carry goods of varying sizes without any distortion to the shape. To this advantage manufacturers have the ability of designing them in any colour, size, shape that they desire. Some of the companies which will produce them will also have their logo clearly emblazoned on the sides. To see some examples of these Hessian bags you can check out various web stores.
At these stores you will find that you have a range of bags to choose from. Some companies will provide you with a service where you can have your jute bag customized to your design and needs. You can specify the colours, the side designs, the handles and if you wish the interior to be line or not lined.
You will also want to look at how it is manufactured starting with the handles as they are very important since most of the weight from the bag will rest on these. The different handles that you can choose for burlap ones include drawstring handles, rope handles which have eyelets, flat cotton webbing handles, bamboo or wood handles and cotton webbing which is filled with strong rope.
The next item of interest that you may want to check out is how the jute bag will be lined and what your options are. As they can be used for a variety of purposes the lining which can be found may be a matter of importance. To help you make this choice you can use one which is laminated with a food grading laminate. This grading gives the bag a splash resistant ability and allows you to wipe the bag clean of any food stains. You could also opt to use one which has been lined with muslin, fleece or any other material. On the other you can choose to use this bag without any sort of lining at all.
As you see there are many different ways, colours, shapes, lining, and reasons for using these ones that are made from jute. In a world where we are becoming environmentally conscious, using one which is eco-friendly, bio-degradable and yet strong and stylish is a good choice to make.
