: It is a normal situation which is faced by everyone who wants some change. But you can suggest this point at different times and also suggest that it is not going to be a big cut. Maybe telling and discussing with him the style changes and how a little change would be good he would agree for some change. It would require time and patience on your part. Do you visit a parlour for some beauty treatments. Then it could be a good idea that you get a small trim so that the hair is shaped slightly and the 'feel good' factor is on you. He may relent after seeing the change.
You would then have the option for going shorter at every visit to the parlour. You have it all in your hands, Prahbleen. Best Wishes and keep us posted for the benefit of other readers and contributors.

No need to worry Prabhleen, keep on asking, Husband will agree in very short time, like gold said first u make him agree for trim, then later you can always go for a big trim(by mistake). I would have been delighted if my gf was in your place asking me for this, she simply has no guts for cut.

Hello Prabhleen Sister,

It is my humble request to you that please do not cut your hair. As you said that you have long hairs so this must be a matter of proud for you. Now a days Girls and ladies with long hairs are very rare. If you cut your hairs it will take very long time to grow back to same length may be five to six years.
The most important thing is that you husband will get upset if you cut your hairs because most boys and Men like long hairs.Again its my request to you please do not go for haircut

Well said Gursewak Singh ji,
Hats Off to you. What i think is that even a single thought about haircut is a sigh of madness or mental disturbance. Sorry for this statement but it is true. Once i gone mad and in the influence of my friends i ruined my illustrious long hair, and now i am struggling for growing back again. Just think by heart. Friends and hairstylist may misguide you. It is business of hairdresser to cut the maximum possible length of hairs, so most of the time they will recommend you for short hair styles by advocating false benifits of short hairs. I am totally agree with brother Gursewak Singh Ji That Long hair is matter of proud for any female. So i will also request you that think once again and never think about Haircuts.

WoW! Prabhleen ji How Fascinating your thought is!
Such a brave and bold decision you have taken! just go ahead, there is no need to think so much. if you want to cut your hair no need to take permission from any one just go to saloon choose the hairstyle that suits on you and get it done. I also want that my wife should cut her hairs but she is not willing for haircut even she do not like hair trimming. But i do not want to force her so i like her as she is.

Hello,
I have long hair. I've never cut it in my life, and i'm not planning to either.
God does want you to enjoy life but your are engrossed in maya. WHY DO WE KEEP OUR HAIR? You say you will keep faith in God, Yes, maybe you will, but not to the full benefit. Our hairs are like tongues. They vibrate when we do naam simran(meditation)But we will only get full benefit when we take amrit. Guru sahib has give us this identity.
I'm sorry I can not relate to ur situation but the advice I would give is be strong, keep your head high and never be embarrassed to live sikhi.
I noted what one sister said about, cutting her hair gave her confidence, Truly, confidence will come by keeping kesh.. Coz if you overcome that, you can over come everything.
I have kesh on my face too, noone has said anything much. If they do, I explain that it's really beneficial.
KESH ARE LIKE ANTENNA. WHEN THEY ARE CUT, WE LOSE CONNECTION WITH AKAAL PURAKH. DO ARDAAS TO GOD TO HELP YOU, EVERY DAY, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. IT MAY TAKE TIME BUT WAHEGURU WILL DEFO HELP YOU GUYS OUT.
Best of Luck. Please do not turn away from our beautiful sikhi roop! Gurfateh jio

WOW @ chinese barber raj!!
How can you say that about Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj!!! Waheguru, waheguru.
UR FACE WILL BE BLACKENED! If anyone offends me, no problem, but disrespecting my Guru... NO WAY ON EARTH!
GGSJ gave men and women equal rights.
M Dalip Singh... was forced AND THEN TOOK AMRIT AFTER FINDING SIKHISM AGAIN!
Read ur history... I mean it!

I can't belive any of these posters are Sikhs! Sikh is only religion at one with Science. Islam mutilates cuts off pleasure producing tissue as a sacrifice of pleasure to please ALlah! Christisnity is man mande they think earth is flat and only 6 thousand yrs old.

Hindus think women is evil, all religions this woman is low! Except 600 yrs ago Sikhs religion teaches women is equal to man!

Only 600yrs ago Guru Nanak writes there are countless solar systems in space, that Earth is a Orb not flat disk or square. That the sun is very far away so hinsus should not waste time throughing water at it. Guru taught life exists on many planets orbitng stars!

Guru wants you to be free of vanity and addictions so stop wateing money to look current as every month fathion changes to get more mony from loosers. Save polution save money do not cut your hair. If you are a woman well long hair is prefered by men!

AND THE PRO HAIRCUT ARE ALL GUYS?BOYS WITH A PERVERTED HAIRCUT SEXTUAL MASTERBATION URGE. THESE ARE DEMONS, EVIL BEINGS HEAR TO TEST YOU TO SEE IF YOU DESERVE TO GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL

John mola u r right about hair
but every religion is equal even guru ji says maanas ki jaat sabhai ekai paihchaanbo and says god is one
there is no difference in guru granth sahib geeta kuraan bible
but every religion has path (rasta)
we cant follow each path but we can follow any of them and follow everything about that religion

Hi @Gold. I read your stories @http://www.hairsnip.com/filte r.aspx?authorid=555&.
And I must say that these are a nice bunch of stories for any Sikh boy/girl who aspires to get his/her haircut and cherish freedom for the rest of their life. And moreover making life simpler for the forthcoming generations. Nice Work!!

Hi,
Cutting hair is not freedom. Leaving hair is. you see if a woman waxes her legs..does she feel free? NO. She gets worried about if the hairs grow back and that she has to come round to another day of waxing and all of the other long process.
And it isn't simple either! Getting your hair cut, in different styles, it isn't simple.
Just simply let your hair grow, FEEL FREE :D Tie ur hair in a joora (topknot) wear a nice dastaar (turban) over it. It is our crown. Decorate it with khandey and shatar :)
And this applies to both girls and boys. We are not to do beadbi (wrong doings (waxing, threating, shaving, bleaching etc)) of our kesh from top to bottom. Gurbani talks about japping naam, roam roam. Which means meditating on the name with each and every hair.
Anyway, I suggest to you, sisters and brothers, to do research before hand. To attend kirtan programmes and gurmat camps.

if I have offended anyone, I am sorry, please forgive me.
