At least google search 'Norwood Bald scale' and compare your balding with different levels and choose which one matches your balding
Eg. mine is norwood scale 2 in norwood balding scale

<quoted text>@gurvinder Kaur:- It is a nice thing that you have expressed in your note. It is the feeling of no jooda and shorter hair for girls that this forum has been introduced. Most people from sikh families have the same feelings as you so they want encouragement from this blog. Sharing the expereinces builds up courage for everyone. It is our duty to help or counsel those in need. You most have seen the various blogs and how they want to balance the new way of life. It was however in a way you had a feeling since childhood of short hair. When did your brother have a haircut - in school or college? How does he feel now. Living in Mumbai it is good to be in the mainstream. I am pleased that you have cut surd as your boy friend so you will not have any trouble for haircuts etc. Keep us encouraged. Mant will benefit as having a new life changing style should not affect our beliefs and our respect for gurudwaras and GGS ji. Thank you for sharing.

Turban tells others who we are. If you cut ur hair and smoke then you might as well not call urself a sikh. To be fair your more of a disgrace to the religion. If I was ur sister or a family member I would have slapped u so hard and disowned you. ONE DAY YOU WILL REALISE AND IT WILL BE TOO LATE.

WHICH IS NOT ALLOWD IN OUR CULTURE
I have a lot of friends and I have never cut my hair. If people feel that they have to go against sikhi to fit in then to behonest they are so stupid. PEOPLE NEED TO GROW UP AND STICK UP FOR THEMSELVES

I'm having the same problem.. I really want a hair cut but if I ask I don't know what they'll do. First of all I don't know how to start the conversation. It's just I can't handle having long hair. The hair baths and my friends all pretend I'm a horse and pull my braid. I want to fit in please. Being Sikh should mean being a pure Sikh at heart not about your appearance. What should I do?

i am a 14 year old Sikh girl. all my life, i have kept my hair in a braid and never cut it. i didn't really mind so much until i reached middle school. every girl i saw had nice beautiful hair, and they gave me bad looks because of the way i kept my hair. i'm being serious. the girls with the nice hair would be the ones with a lot of friends, and boyfriends. this is how it works around here. everyone is shallow. i've been looked down on because of my braid for 3 years. enough was enough. one day, my mom took me to the salon to get a trim for my split ends, and the lady accidently cut off way too much hair. i know she did it on purpose, because they were all having a conversation on how once their daughters reached highschool, they choppoed off their hair, but my mom said that i wouldn't. ANYWAYS, it wasn't that short, but it was pretty short. lucky for me, my mom went to india right after. so, i watched online tutorials on how to cut your own hair. i cut it myself, and i looked absolutely gorgeous. i've gained a whole load of confidence, and i made so much friends. people who didn't talk to me before, suddenly started talking to me. but hey, you see what i mean when i say they're shallow here? sometimes i wish i still had a braid to see if they would still treat me the same. anyways, since my mom went to india for 4 weeks, and my dad was completely clueless when it came to these things, i thought it would grow back by then. but it didn't. when my mom came back, i was terrified on how she would react. i kept my hair tied in a bun for as long as i could remember. then one weekend, around 8AM, i went downstairs to get a cup of milk while my hair was in a low ponytail since i just woke up. and my mom was all "WHY IS YOUR HAIR SO SHORT?". you know, i'm pretty lucky my mom is chill. she asked if i cut it, i said "NO this is how short it was when the salon lady cut it." (besides, i only cut off a few inches) i was scared for nothing, she didn't care. HONESTLY. she didn't care at all. i think she liked it, actually. but every now and then, she's like "DID YOU CUT YOUR HAIR?". she knows i cut it, but she doesn't care.:) i'm pretty lucky if you ask me. most Sikh parents would freak and not talk to their kids for a week or so. i'm so thankful my parents aren't like that. anyways, now i'm in highscool. it's SO hard to find someone who has a braid. me and so many other Sikh girls cut our hair for the same reason, to fit it. and, so what? and that's my story.:)

Gurvinder Kaur :- I agree with your view that it is difficult to maintain a jooda even for a kid. And when the kid is in a different state like Bengal - he would be made fun of. And yes even on a Sunday it is a great bother to wash and comb the hair - exactly as you said - Sunday ko joooda khool ke baitho..... the full Sunday goes. Especially when the mother has long hair and has to maintain her hair as well. I grew up in Bengal so I know how it feels! When my friends went for their haircuts and came back so changed and clean it pinched me that I had to stay with the same style of jooda. And I used to love feeling the short haor on the nape especially when the barber had used a straight razor to clean up the back and behind the ears. It is the privilege of the mother to keep the hairs or to go for haircuts. To remind everyone that we are from Sikh family the hair can be grown for some time to form a joodi and then when the kid grows up he should be taken for a haircut. The kid will love it and less work for the mother. And if there are two kids - God help! Haircut and short hair is best. It may look bad initially but in the long run it is the favoured option. Also the mothers these days are going in for short length hair. I agree with the joodi style or the haircut. Keep sharing your views!

it is writen in sooraj prakash granth (a granth of sikh where whole history is there of sikhi from guru nanak dev ji to guru gobind singh ji) in that granth there is witen that guru gobind singh ji said on baisakhi taht he need a pure sikh from heart and taht sikh have to follow every rule without asking your mind if guru ji says go to hell we have no write to ask why because we are slaves of guru gobind singh ji and guru ji said that ever sikh has to keep his or her hair its my rule if no one can't keep then he or she is not sikh it is writen in sooraj prakash granth firstly read that granth and then comment on sikhi
