Well , if you wants to call yourself sikh then keep
your hair ,study about
sikhism ,learn how to fight , be brave, be
confident and be proud of yourself.
If you dont want to be a sikh then talk with
your family. You just cant become sikh by
taking birth into sikh family , you become
sikh by your owe choice or will.

Would it be apt if i got my beard and hair cut with a trimmer but still sport a turban after that. I say so because even though i want to get my haircut badly, but at the same time i also enjoy wearin my turban. Please advise.

who dares to say me what to do or not
when i was a child i have to face some comments from my classmates......
it happens.....
but i am in college now and no one dare to say something in front of me and even someone tries to do so he gets its answer from my mouth !!!! and also they can't dare or i will end up beating them.....
everyone respects us and we are so uncommon that everyone notice us and we are always in center (which sometimes is very frustrating when your teacher always periodically make eye contact with you while teaching whole class and you cant do any joke at that time hahaha very sad)
god has given me a good body and i have a beautiful beard ( not big )
but i am not a true sikh just tries a little .
my friends say me smart ....
thanks god just give me some power to become president of UN hahahaha !!!!!.

One more thing need to add, Start the Khalasawood ,Because most of girls are attracted with bollywood movies. I saw in bollywood they always make the joke on Sikhs and those are not real Sikhs. If we got the movie like Singh is King and Rocket Singh. Then we can make some images. But those kind of movies should be done by real Sikh with turbun not clean shaven like Jimmy Shergill.

Please comment if you like my comments

Hi,I am a sikh guy married with beautiful long haired teacher same as RKS. I've been married for more than seven years. we have a son of six years having long hair also. I had got my hair cut during my graduation before marriage. My parents have great beliefs in sikhism. They did not feel good on my hair cutting. They 'll be pleased to see me in turban. But I am happy with my position, even I want to see my wife in different hair style not in just braided hair.My wife is very supportive for me as well as for my family. She does not want to hurt my parents so she always styled her hair in braid and not do leave it open or tied in pony.
I am bored to see her in a single style.I discussed this matter to her. She does not hurt my parents.
please give a suggestion to convince my wife for some changes.

To all you who think cutting your hair, go get lost, we don't need you idiots in our religion. Our religion only for the strong, not the weak little insects.

While your at it, go get your name changed to some English name like "Jay" or "Steve" if you want to be modern so much. Then you can go back to India and talk in your curry accent to your friends and say "hey guys I'm totally cool dude now ".

As for attracting women, if you don't even work out or keep your body is good shape , then your an idiot.

Be like Gary Sethi or Subaig Singh, these guys get heaps of lady followers.

well, you are 100 time better person than those fools who are calling themself Sikh/Sardar after getting haircut and ruining the name of sikhism.
Its understandable that everyone cant be a sikh.
I AGREE with you totally. People are stupid. They cut hair and still go to gurdwara and all to show off and prove that they r sikh. If you cuth air u should simply accept that u r not sikh and its just good. I am a turbaned sikh and dont cut beard but i call myself an atheist just because i am not sikh at heart. At heart i just DONT believe in religions. I am happy in keeping my parents happy with my look. Otherwise i dont give a damn fuc* about any religion :P

u guys are moist man, our gurus and so many other amazing gursikhs gave up their lives so we can practise sikhi freely!

they gave up their lives and u lot are shitting yourself because you dont have friends or you dont fit in the crowd? LOL.

why are you running after these 'friends'. they can hardly be your friends if they cant accept the way you look when you have Maharajs roop.

A dastaar/pagh/dhumalla and kesh is the most beautiful thing i have ever come across.

My family arent religious so i was brought up to cut my hair,i have realised this is the BIGGEST mistake i have ever made!

i have started keeping my kesh AND wearing a dastaar.. and im a girl!!! if the girls can do it so can the guys.

as sikhi says - The hair moustache and beard are created within God's order. How can those who violate their natural form by cutting their hair ever be accepted by the Lord?.

I was born into a Sikh Family and was named Ajaivir Singh Malhotra by my father, but after his death when I was 8 years old my Mother had to take up the responsibility of family, earning and household. I had two younger brothers, so it was at that time when I was 10 that she made all of us cut our hair as it was difficult for her to spend such a lot of time on our hair combing, washing and tying Patka. Moreover she is a non-sikh, hence did not understand the emotions. It was then She changed my name to Varun and also my brothers names from Karanvir to Abhishek (who is 6 years younger to me) and Taranvir to Rahul(who is 7 years younger to me). Both my brothers are hindus as they do not have much remebrance of our sikh culture and teachings, while I have a full recount of it, so sometimes feel that I am a sikh cheating onto myself. After 8 years since the time I took a haircut, I wanted to be a sikh and so followed my heart and kept my hair. I learnt to tie a turban from one of my friends and tied it. But last week I went in for the haircut and shave (after 2 years) because my brothers want me to be a part of family and hence be a clenshaven and also my Girlfrind does not want me to keep a turban although she belongs to a sikh family. Personally even I was not getting on well with my new identity so went with my brothers and girlfriend as keeping hair, tying turban takes time moreover girls want boys having good haircut. My brothers helped me cut off my hair by tying a pony and cutting it off and shaved my beard. Rest I went in to the nearby saloon with my girlfriend who made me get a nice haircut and gelled hair, I felt quite light after it. I was a difficult decision, but my family was with me. Now I look more handsome and attractive. Now I can even pierce my Ears and wear studs which I had to leave when I started wearing a turban. Though I am a casual smoker but now I can smoke.

It is a modern time and every thing of cultures and vouges have been changed with the passing of the time.the same fact is also observed in the east punjab cultural life.
The ladies of urban areas ie chandi garh, amritser.jallundher .saharanpur etc are now bwcome most modern.they wear tight shirt of deep cut gala upto half breasts exposing and shalwar or sari with scanty sleeves less blouse .most of the women have got cut their two to three feet long plait of hair in 4 inches french chutia or 6 inches short pigtail plait just upto above the bra line. There are now existed many nos of ladies hair cutting salons in every market/bazars in urban area
of eeast punjab where male barbers are doing all services of the punjabi women to make them most beautiful bydoing their haircutting.facial bleaching & Make-up,colouring and curling of hair, armpits ,breasts and privacy shaving.breasts massaging and full body nude massaging etc.Hardly 25 % ladies are seen with bobbed cut hair ,with well errected stiffed breasts and beautiful make up etc (BOOTA MASIH Mumbay)

Hats off to all the sikh guys who have begin to do wat they feel like doing rather than following blindly behind one book. losing ones hair is not a loss in identity. the time wen the tradition was started it was the need of the hour in dat time but wts d purpose of it nw. i mean its just more of a waste of time n energy. people waste nearly one hr of their precious time everyday. try to cslculate dat over a year and see hw much time hav u already wasted. Its high time. no need to worry boys......time will come wen these dumbheaded ass holed will understand.
