Could someone plz tell me if I could go to curves on this diet or not. All my friends go to curves and they want me to go but I'm not sure if that would slow down my weight lose or not.
I understand once you've been on fast for 2 weeks you can start exercising, start slow and work your way up, you're not taking in many calories. Listen to your body.

Hi Mona,

You may want to try having a cup of bullion made from one of those salty instant cubes. Sometimes on this diet you get tired but it is because you have had so much fluid, urinated a lot, and maybe depending upon the hot weather sweated. I find if I am really tired sometimes having that bullion cube helps me to feel better.

Do NOT exercise until your body has adjusted and even then the exercise is very limited because this is a starvation diet. My doctor told me only walking or bike riding and then only 30 minutes per day. If I do more exercise than that I must add additional packets of shake to my daily intake.

Good luck and it does get better. Hang in there.

HI Kay: I love BKK, one of my favorite cities in Asia. Good luck on Phase 2, do you put some sort of plan in place for yourself as your getting reading to go from fast to food. Have you seen the online transition plans, might help prevent some of the regain - it's tough. Best, Desiree
I love Bangkok too. Am here on a conference and usually manage to visit here about 3 times per year. I am based in the Middle East for my job so travel to Thailand is convenient and the shopping is great here.

What amazes me is when I first started coming to Bangkok back in 1990's I almost never saw a fat Thai person unless it was a little old lady in which case maybe size 16. Now I see megafat Thai people walking around the streets of Bangkok! Also there has been an explosion here in Western style fast foods, packages food, and Western treats high in fat and sugar. It is an astonishing change. Still not the obesity rate of USA but prevalent in the city of Bangkok. Countryside is not as prevalent as Bangkok from what I can see.

Anyhow so much for the myth of the naturally thin Asian person as when they are exposed to our diet they begin to choose those addictive high sugar, high fat foods and become fat like us.

Bye,
Kay

. Thx Kay I'm like you from the Middle East and you know how we eat and I'm sure you know how others judge so I don't have any support from family or anyone. I try to stay away and that's why I ask on the chat I don't know who to ask but it's been a week for me and I only lost 6lb. I dont want to drink lots of water bc I was told to much water could stop weight lost.

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Finished day 2 on Optifast. Had a horrendous headache today. Had to take 3 Advil to get relief! I'm 5''8" and 226 pounds. My goal is 160-170.
I think tomorrow will be hardest. I will be home alone all day and it will be day 3. Yesterday and today I was at work (7:00 am to 7:30 pm at hospital). I was busy and it kept my mind off food.

Good luck this week, everyone! Had a bit of a rough start but I've been on track today and looking forward to tomorrow. I'm living overseas but moving home at the end of April, so I have about 3.5 months to lose as much as I can, and then I'll be working on keeping up the loss back in North America. I'm starting at 241 as of this morning.

Kay, it's the same here in Korea! Even back in 2008 when I moved here the first time, Koreans were all so lean and you almost NEVER saw anyone who was overweight. Now it's only 5 years later and you see plenty of obese people, including really big chubby kids. Packaged food is horrible!

. That's what happened to me but on day 3 the headache was gone and that was the hardest day for me so plz try to make it on day 3 after the 3rd day it gets a little better lol. I'm 5"7 and my weight is 225 so I know how u feel this is day 8 for me but I'm taking phantramine that's helping me not to be hungry as much even though I'm hungry all the time so I'm not sure if it's helping and I'm waiting for the day when the hunger goes away.

Wow Mona, we're at about the same spot. I'm 5'7, 224, on Day 13, started on New Years Day at 241 so am thrilled with how fast it's gone off. But I'm sure the stall will come and stay for 3 weeks, that's how my body usually works. How long to you plan on staying on the program.

I'm hungry to but I've just got myself to the point of this is what I need to do for a short time, not like I'm never going to eat again. And I'm tired of losing a pound, then gaining a pound, then having to lose that pound all over again. If I can get down to 180 in the 16 weeks I plan on doing this I'd be thrilled. Then will go transition back to food and try getting off the 30lbs. I'd like to be 14999999.9999 or less! Keep me posted on your progress.

Sounds were all in about the same spot. HOpefully we can encourage other through the process. I may only do the full fast for 12 weeks then transition to having a small meal once a day of the lean meat and vegetables. Doctor says I can still lose weight on that and it would be more manageable for my life. I am hoping after 12 weeks I will be a good bit under 200 (185-190). How long I do full fast will depend on my progress. Today is day 4. I'm not terribly hungry. I'm taking garciniia cambogia which helps a lot with hunger. I just dont know if I can do 16 weeks on full fast. Maybe next week I will have a different thought.

. That's what I want even 150 I take because being tall helps. This is day 9 and I only lost 8lb but I also know it's water so I tell my self just try to make to 200 so this way when I get to 200lb I say I want to be 180 and this way I know I could do it. I'm sick and tiered of being the fat one from my friends and family. So I really think it's a start we have to start some where and I think this is it even though I think it's like Adkins.

Just started Optifast today! I'm interested in sharing tips, insights and experiences with others who are on this journey, I'm doing the full fast. So far, I'm not experiencing significant hunger. I'm realizing how much of my world revolved around food. It's been a social tool as well as a nutritional tool. Now, I have to fill those food focused activities with something more constructive. Think I'm going to have one of my drinks & go to sleep:-). Keep pressing everybody! This is January, imagine how rewarding this will all feel when we take our coats off in May:-). Question: Have you told friends and families you're doing the program, or do you think it's best to keep it to yourself and wait until others can see the results?

That's what I thought too Mona. I plan on going 16 weeks or 180 whichever comes first. I've done 5 shakes a day with water and 2 other kinds of sugar free drinks. There are times I'm so hungry, then others it doesn't bother me. I'm thinking of venturing off and getting some bars, not sure about the soup. Day at a time..... What's your weigh in day?

Hi Kenya - good for you!!! My husband/kids/mom know but I haven't told anyone else. I've got a couple of big events to go to later this month and i'm just going to tell them my stomach is bothering me and I can't eat and I'll have some tea or water or something, then make a escape out to the car to down a shake or something. It's short term, I'm just going to keep it close to the vest, when the time comes and I transition to food I can start telling people I've been doing low carb/no sugar, etc. Keep us posted on your experience

Omg Desiree that's what I'm doing also I didn't tell anyone only my husband and kids. I have 6 sisters and they all weigh about 115 or 120 ( ughh) and at every event I get invited to I never go bc of my weight so I'm saving my self for Easter lol and that's why I'm being stubborn and I'm doing this diet. I started at 231 and today I'm 222 it's day 10 I think. I'm being very sensitive and I'm crying a lot hahaha I think it's from hunger I'm not sure and my breath OMG!!!! My kids keep telling to go brush my teeth it's so funny, but I was told it's a good thing to have bad breath it means your losing weight (I hope that's true).

So far, so good. The shakes and bars are good enough to consume. I'm not really hungry but I am missing to social aspects of food. I was always out & about getting so delicious grub in. Need I say more? So, I'm trying to keep busy so that I'm not thinking about which restaurant I could be at with friends. This has really heightened my awareness of how much I relied on food as a social tool. How are the rest of you doing?
Dang...I'm having visions of all the good stuff I know how to cook:-).

I can't believe this, I was using Easter as my deadline date too. Actually I would finish my 16 weeks 2 days after Easter. I'm going to hang until Easter or 180lbs, whichever comes first. I'm 222 today as well, this is so weird, but I started on 1/1 at 241. I'm so hungry today I'm ready to chew off my arm.. I've had nothing but shakes since I started and I broke earlier this week and ordered bars. Told my Mom she has to keep them at her house and bring one up to me each day which she comes to visit (don't trust myself with them). We can do this Mona..we can last and make it to the end and wont' it feel great!
