Thanks Angela, that really helps. I am not close to a clinic and used a nutritionist, but she's not great and this blog is what keeps me motivated and knowing how to follow the program. I'm excited to slowly introduce food again. The next 2 weeks are tough as I am required to go out every nite to entertain international guests. I won't let this undo all of my hard work. Hope you had a great holiday! You are doing so well with your loss and wish you the best!

Good luck to everyone! Please post your thoughts and struggles; we need each other.

I am on day 3 of optifast. I did optifast through a clinic about 7 years ago. I bought a case of the powdered shakes from ebay. Does anyone know any website that might sell it cheaper than ebay?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Day one of Optifast. After getting on the scales this morning I'm more determined than ever to stick with it. Anyone else on day one - or close by?

I am Day# 4 with Optifast. Started on Tuesday for my 48th birthday :) I weighed myself today and have lost 5.5 pounds!! I purchased Optifast via Amazon and am not going to a clinic at this time. I have 40 pounds to go to be at a normal BMI.

Hi Vonda, good for you! You can do this. I don't go to a clinic either, as there are none close to me. I recommend measuring yourself too so you can monitor lost inches. Drink lots of water and eat a meal every 3 hours. Easy as that! Good luck!

I try to go to the marina on the weekends. If you ever want to walk, I'm up for it.

I never heard of a 95% member regain statistic and not clear that's credible...the key to optifast isn't the weight loss that's easy on this diet but the maintenance phase where most quit the diet and thus not fix the problem which they think is the pounds rather than how they gained the weight and why...if you don't stick to the second part of optifast you will likely will regain or go to a weight watchers type alternative during maintenance .. So there's no 95% failure rate unless you don't follow the program..like all programs but 95% is far too high a statistic based on own personal knowledge I would say half do gain it all bak as many don't follow through...and yo yo...many get so excited with weight loss they start their old habits....so remember its not the loss that keeps your weight off that's only part 1 opti has an excellent maintenance program but so many leave before they start that phase so please if you lose the weight if not opti find anothe reprogram whether weight watchers or oa to help you maintain...I did opti years ago and kept it off for 20 years recent gain due to health injury back on it...you just have to remember its not about the loss it's about the maintenance

I heard there is a 46% success rate of this program.. ANYONE can succeed as long as they are willing to change their lifestyle for good.. You can do ANY diet program and regain if you go back to your old habits. doesn't mean you cant enjoy your favorite foods you just have to plan your day out and make it fit... staying active and eating right after the program will make you succeed!!! no question about that... I am actually really excited about being able to cook again I have so many healthy ideas.. and im glad because I have go my bf eating really healthy now.. he was a HUGE foodie before... if we spend 4300.00 on this program that should be enough motivation to make it work for us and keep the weight off... haha ok that's all I have right now.. I hope everyone is having a fantastic day!!:) I am down 21 lbs and haven't reached week 4 yet!!!!:)

Dau 4 for me. Last night woke up and felt faint/dizzy and sick to my stomach. Sticking with it today and feeling better. Anyone else having side effects at first? Lost 5 lbs so far.

Bonnie I am almost 4 weeks into and still feel that way sometimes.. not as often though.. I do notice its more so when im not drinking my water.. which I am STILL having a problem with.. been drinking probably only 60/80 oz a day... I gotta get with that.. I am sure my weight loss would be more if I was doing the water right... I haven't had a bar in two days either.. but all five of my shakes.. I feel like I am forcing myself to get em down now.. just not hungry!

Well I just made my first meal since Memorial Day. I made grilled chicken and I steamed greenbeans/mushrooms. It's my lunch for tomorrow. 4 ounces of protein is a lot more than I thought. But 1/2 cut of veggies seems so small!

We had memorial day off from our weekly class so as of tonight I have officially lost 46 lbs.

Tomorrow I will track everything I eat. I will also track the water and my blood sugar readings. That will be the challenge for me because after a day or two I always feel too busy for tracking. But this time I want to follow through

Thanks tattocutie81 for your insight. Scale hasn't moved in 2 days, but sticking with it. I'm drinking at least 2 qt. of water a day and use fresh limes to help with taste. Also, decaf ice tea is easy.
