Becca, if you decide to go to the Greenville center, let me know. They will give both of us a $100 gift certificate (might depend on which program you choose) if you mention my name. You have to actually sign up for the program to get this.

Patrice & Lorraine I went to Dr.'s Monday and I have lost 11 lbs in 19 days. The Dr. is ok with me staying on it so I happy. But I tried to do just 5 or 6 and felt shaky, and out of sorts , along with getting horrible stomachs so I went back to 7/9 , I really try to stay at 7 I thought I was to fast before blood work & my blood sugar dropped to 47. I've always had low sugar levels but not like that. Does anyone know what they check in the blood test?
How are you all doing? Everybody good?

Week 26: Weigh-in, loss 1.25 lbs. I still have .50 lbs to lose to get back to where I was before I went on vacation. I'm slowly getting back on track:) I was slotted to be on the program for 26 weeks (that's the time I paid for) and I didn't get to my goal weight:( Now to stay on I have to put out more money to get more products. I have products to last up to Week 29. This program is expensive and I have to determine what to do after my products run out. I'm down to 2 optifast product a day as of yesterday; they increased my meat, dairy and veggie intake. So I guess I have to get busy:):) Heading to Wrightsville Beach tomorrow for 4 days with my god kids....another mini vacation:) I'm going to try to do better than I did when I went on the cruise...LOL I'll keep you informed of my progress. Until then, stay strong my Opti Fast Family...Rock Steady:)
I don't know it you are still on program but if you need to buy product go to Amazon. com

When I was hungry like that my dr told me to get a hard boiled egg white. he said that i could have up to 6 a day. one between each product! They are loaded with protein and I think the egg white only has like 17 calories. I also have had a pickle that has no calories. With the blood work they are looking to see if the cholesterol went down and make sure your liver and kidneys are doing ok with the drastic diet and if you are on any meds if they should be adjusted or stopped.

Rhonda,
I kept my weight off for 24 years . I did the original Optifast 400 in 1988. Recently, due to a medical condition, I gained 25 pounds. I redid Optifast 800 this past month and lost the weight. The only reason I did Opti again was to get the weight off quickly. It does work and I am a true believer that it can be kept off. The keeping off requires that you REALLY REALLY WANT to be thinner! It is hard work in the beginning but does get easier as time goes by. You HAVE TO COUNT CALORIES and weigh and measure everything you eat at first but, soon you "get it"- what 4 ounces of chicken or shrimp is and your meals become routine. You can eat the goodies but only rarely or if you bank calories. Hope this helps. AND DO IT! NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS!

Hi , EVERYONE! I'm done! Lost what I needed to and now counting those calories! It is a bit humbling but I know I am back on track! As much as I hate the taste of Optifast thats how much I love and believe in the program! If you are committed to losing the weight and keeping it off it can be done. Good luck to all of you! And always, always remember - even when there is your favorite fattening food calling your name -NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS! It may sound corny to some but this quote has kept me going and out of more caloric disasters than anything!!

Rhonda, it absolutely works!!! I lost 105 lbs. in 8 months and have kept it off for over a year. I am now back on the plan to lose that last 20 lbs. to put me at 150. The most important thing that needs to happen is that your dr. needs to have a therapy group for OptiFast patients. That's what I had here in Austin. You see, people who are obese (and I was 275 lbs) need to drastically change their relationship to food. We all really needed to face the fact that we were obese because of our own choices. It wasn't anybody else's fault -- just our own. You have to change your whole relationship with food and it will be a wonderful life changing experience. I've never felt better in my life!! No, I don't eat fast food anymore -- and I DO NOT MISS IT AT ALL!!!
Do yourself a favor and get with the program! If you need any support, I am here for you and anyone else who needs it!
Hi Lynn,
Your words are very inspiring. How are you going now in 2012. Did you reach your weight goal and have you been able to maintain it. I had gastric stapling in 1981 and am now back at where I started. Am 1 week into Optifast and apart from muscle ache am doing OK. Just wondering how you are doing now and whether you can offer any more words of your experience.

Hello all! I have just started the O.N.E. Weigh diet plan though my GI that features Optifast. I found this forum last week when I was trying to make my decision to start it. Thank you all so much for all your openness and encouragement of one another. It is offering another way for me to get encouragement and a more extensive array of perspectives than the weekly sessions alone.
I am 33, 5'9" and was 274.5 lbs when I started this past Thursday. I have been suffering from stomach issues for over a year and a half, got diagnosed with C.Difficile and treated with antibiotics, I have PCOs and knee issues. All of these things have kept me from being able to lose weight with less extreme diets. I tried Nutrisystem a few years ago (was always craving complete proteins), and I was able to lose almost 50 lbs, but was unable to keep it off.
The additional help with lifestyle changes of this system will hopefully help me keep it off this time. The main problem for me is the social aspect of eating. My husband has tons of family here in Louisiana so of course we have many family functions which almost all center around eating. I am kind of excited to be starting this before the holiday season, as it will be the biggest test and if I can do it, I can do anything.
Please share any strategies you use to cope with this aspect of eating.
Thanks again for being such awesome people and good luck to anyone else who struggling!

Hi All,
I am starting OPtifast today. I hope not to cheat. I have been trying to take my body to ketosis but every evening I would cheat with junk food. So my doctor advised that I should take a break and start the program when I feel I am ready. Here I am its lunch hour two shakes down with a Diet Coke.Hoping to be back tomorrow and share my sucess. I have to loose 30 lbs to bring my High Blood pressure and Sleep Apnea in control.
Wish me luck.

Optifast DOES have both corn syrup solids AND aspartame. It is amazing to me that any shake or diet supplement contain these ingredients!! There should not be ant artificial sweeteners ... they could be using xylitol and/or stevia. Both chemical free and natural and DO NOT have ANY side effects. VERY SAD this product is being pushed by the medical industry!! What I think most people who are overweight would like to see is using todays knowledge to create a yummy diet shake without the artificial sweeteners!! Anyone who looks into artificial sweeteners and what studies have shown, would not touch aspartame OE sucralose. Stevia and Xylitol are excellent choices. Respect yourself.

After my first week, I did not cheat and I lost 5.6 pounds. Since I normally drink tons of water, I don't think much of it is water weight. I am excited to keep going on it, I am no longer having hunger pains or anything except when I wait too long between meals.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to get through the holidays while on this diet?
Good luck Jenny.
