Please tell me what kind of a sick mind would want to see this hag naked to begin with?

Booke Shields is now a mainstream Hollywood "good girl." But let's not forget how she was promoted by her mother to break into the business, Pretty Baby. The pubescent Calvin Klein jeans ads?

Pedophilia is now repulsive, but the lust was almost considered completely acceptable thirty years ago. Jodie Foster played a child prostitute to break into the business.

Polanski is called pedophile for raping a thirteen year-old girl. He is, since he was 44 and she was 13. But thirty years ago, many people just turned a blind eye to a men's lust for jail-bait.

Polanski committed a crime, true. But consider the fact that the girl's mother allowed her to be photographed provocatively at the age of thirteen. The girl was raped because the mother was told to not come to the photo shoot. What kind of mother let's her daughter be alone with a 44 year old man?

Brooke's mother obviously let her daughter be photographed naked. Now that she's "famous" it suddenly is kept quiet. Now it's "offensive?" Brooke is a hypocrite. She knows damn well she used pedophile sex to become "famous." We can't embarass the "mommy?" What is she going to tell her little girls about mommie's Hollywood "career?"

Those were the days when lust and sex were the way to "make it big" in Hollywood. Obviously it paid off for Brooke and Jodie Foster.

Think of how many other jail-bait little girls in Holly wood at that time as Brooke and Jodie that didn't hit the big time and end up to be mainstream "good girls."

Bet there are lot's of pictures in Hollywood of all the wannabes.

Let’s not forget Brooke playing a part in a movie where incest was the name of the game. People loved that movie and applauded it as a beautiful love story, a masterpiece. Now McKenzie Phillips is saying daddy had his way with me and people want to dig him up just to kill him. Whatever….

Bet she doesn't look so hot naked and without make-up. And besides, if jackson didn't do anything with her, it makes me wonder about Bubbles.

Do you mean Pretty Baby?

Well, Polanski is considered a "genius" so his sex crimes are somehow justified. His mother was klled by the Nazis and Sharon Tate slaughtered are also the recent excuses being made for him as justification for raping a child.

Don't feel sorry for Pappa Phillips, he dug his own grave!

I have no idea what pretty baby is I don’t think. I couldn’t care less about Roman, and McKenzie is white trash.

Pretty Baby is one of Brooke Sheilds movies in which she played a child prostitute. What movie are you talking about with her and incest?

The Polanski issue is relative to this one. If Mackenzie is white trash, so is her Pappa.

Blue Lagoon and yes I agree he’s trash. What a fcuking loser having a sexual relationship with his daughter. They’re both pigs.

It is all very repulsive. I forgot about Blue Lagoon. Was that a borther/sister thing? Yuck.

That's my point, how can she act so "high and mighty" now when in her past she did any vile sexual thing to make it big.

I do not believe they were brother and sister in the movie - they were both in a ship, with many others traveling but, I just looked it up and so far have nothing about them being related. I was 14 when it came out so I'm positive I would have taken notice.

Gonna look a little more.

She's, actually, a very nice woman - was a nice girl. I went to camp with one of her best friends and met her that way.....and, spent a good amount of time with her in our teens and early 20's, when she was in NY.

I didn't care for her mom and my mom couldn't stand her - I was only allowed to go when we were when Diane's folks were there.

This is why my mother never let me model and why I've never accepted cards for my daughter, either.

Like these girls don't have enough to deal with...

Polanski is a child rapist and if he gets away with this, it will be a mockery of our justice system, the law and it will send the message that anyone can be an ex-pat and run away from conviction.

"In 1980, when this film was released, there was quite a bit of controversy, most of it ill-founded. There were complaints about incest, but the two children are not brother and sister: Emmeline clearly addresses Arthur Lestrange as Uncle, while Richard calls him Father, so the closest they could be is cousins, and the use of Uncle may have been conventional (indicating guardianship) rather than literal. There were complaints about showing a 14-year-old actress nude, but they used body doubles for all of the nude scenes (Brooke Shields spends some of the commentary pointing which body double was used for which scene). It's nice that you got to meet her. Yes, she does seem nice, but she did use sex to "get a break." Allowing nude pictures when you are only ten is really inappropriate to say the least.

Yes, many pretty girls are always encouraged to "model" or become an "actress." Getting there is always a rocky road.

Look at what Miley Cyrus and her father did by "posing" seductively in that photo. That solo picture of her was extremely inappropriate too. That wasn't "art," that was soft porn.

I FULLY hold her mother responsible for that photo - she was a real piece of work, that woman.

Like I said, my mom wouldn't let me go visit if she was the adult in charge.

There have been some weird allegations re: Miley and her father but, I think that's people's over active imaginations. But, she's been WAY over sexualized, imo. Maybe I'm just more conservative than I thought but come on!!! The videos, the outfits, the behavior...

....I heard, once, that they called Amanda Bynes' parents and asked how they were able to keep her out of trouble once Miley started acting out. They said, treat her like you would any other 14 year old - NO special treatment or parties, clubs, etc JUST because she's got a job in show business...

...I guess they didn't heed their advice.

Brooke's mother the ultimate stage monster mother,I guess. I guess the Mickey Mouse Club and Disney were too wholesome for her.

The Miley pics with her father were creepy imo. I don't think anything is happening there but I do think they are using sensationalized pics to "promote" her.

He's got so much money, why do they need to capitalize on her?

I suppose she has a modicum of talent and appeal - both for young boys and girls. But, IF she was destined to be in that business, she could have been better protected and, had it been my daughter, marketed MUCH differently.

My guess is Amanda Bynes will be working at 30 - not sure I can say the same thing about Miley. Keeping ones nose clean and working ones way up, slowly, seems to be the healthiest route for child stars to take. A LOT of parental attention and a consistent focus on education, first and foremost. If the talent is there, a ten year body of work can nicely set up a 22 or 24 year old young actress/actor, for a full time professional life. In addition, if they get their education, they have alternatives and potentially a better understanding of their own business affairs. The whole process is really a family commitment.

It's a tough business, think of all the wannabes that never make it. Even all the "talent" found on the talent shows are here today and gone tomorrow. There were so many great singers, but where are they now??

If we could only be more impressed with academic "talent" and the people who serve our communities.

Even if we could be EQUALLY as impressed - that would be a balance with which I could live, gladly.

Star watching has been around since there were films and records - and, it's fun for people, kids especially, within reason.

The advent of MTV just changed the music industry SO much - and so much crappy music got out there JUST because of the videos.

I miss the days when music just didn't get marketed if it wasn't accepted by the public via record (now, cd and MP3, which is fine) sales and what was demanded on the air waves. Issue with those times was a lot of good music didn't get heard...

...again, there has to be a happy medium.

I know the more serious kids my daughter's age are all about school, involvement in extra curricular activities about which they are passionate, and preparing to apply for scholarships. A lot of the high school kids are really feeling the pinch of this economy AND the inflated college tuition rates.

Mine found a way to blend her passion with the whole music thing, as she has a music review column in the school paper, as well as is their photographer.
