Of course you can believe in God and Jesus without believing the bible. I'm living proof. To me the bible is a fairy tale. But in saying that, there's absolutely nothing wrong with reading is and using it as a source of moral values.

The King James Version was written by man and I believe that there are codes throughout. By code, I mean the way certain things are written to reveal certain things

Ok..you confused me. How can you "believe" that he is real but think that the Bible is a fairy tale? That makes no sense to me. Ethier you believe it all or you don't.

God didn't write the bible. What is so hard to understand about believing in a higher power but not believing in a book that some people wrote?

First of all I'm a woman MamaJohnson. Second, God did write the Bible, not the ENTIRE Bible but other aposltes and people that were close to God wrote it as well. If you believe in a "higher" power and that power is somebody who is not God, then whomever else you think that is then your wrong. And that "Book" is something that is true and nobody can change that!:)

The Bible has only been proven historically accurate, has helped Scientist, and has yet to be proven incoorect. 2 Timonthy 3:16 says "All scripture is God breathed.." God told man what to write. As they witnessed it themselves the Holy Spirit encouraged them.

I agree w/ all you said, though I see the Bible as more than a fairytale. It is a great book for morals and structure, isn't it?:)

That is wrong. Actually, while some of the history is reasonably accurate, most is (understandably) biased, much is unverifiable, and some is just plain incorrect.

That is fine. You are still wrong.
You might want to avoid any histories regarding the Exodus which aren't produced by Christians, though. And don't mention Noah's flood to any geologists.

LOL. I think you have that backwards. I believe you meant "historians" and they have been aided plenty of times by the Bible. Goodbye.

Nope. I wrote what I meant, and I meant what I wrote.

"Plenty of times" is an imprecise term. As I have already stated, some of the history in the Bible is reasonably good. It is hardly surprising that historians have found it useful sometimes. Of course, that doesn't mean that it is All accurate. It isn't.

The bible is a fairy tale.
It's purpose is to control populations, The Devil and God is to show you the diference Between good and bad.
If god so loved the earth as he says he does, Then why do Inocent children suffer, From hunger to murder.?
I once believed in god and put 100% Of my faith in that, Seems like everytime i prayed and prayed, More and more Misfortune happened in my life.
On June 10th 2006 i suffered a severe auto mobile accident That left me in hospital almost a month.
When i came home my belief's towards god had changed. It is than when i refused and kick him out of my house for good.
I decided to become 100% responsible for all my actions and accept faith within myself.
Also i became my own god and creator of my life.
Since than my life has changed, Things are great, my family has come together, My financial state has improved, WOW i just can believe i was carrying all those bricks all that time, for something that has never been seen or spoken to.
I thank myself for taking a stand and wish more people would take that initiative.
Good luck all.

Wow I am so sorry that you feel that way!!! That makes me so sad to hear people say those type of things. God is very powerful and forgiving. I have gone through many times and even as recent as yesterday that he has been there for me through my hard times where I break down and don't know what to do. He always forgives and loves no matter what. It's just scary to think that even for you there are hard times, but God has never left your side or forsaken you! I hope that maybe one day you realize this :)
