Officials: New Mexico teen fatally shot own family (Updated)

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of two adults and three children, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said.

Last night, police found five people dead at a South Valley home in the 2800 block of Long Lane SW.

A man, a woman, two girls and a boy were found in the home with several gunshot wounds.

Officials have indentified the victims as Greg Griego, 51; his wife Sara Griego, 40; and three of their children, Zephania Griego, 9; Jael Griego, 5; and Angelina Griego, 2.

Shortly after 1 p.m. police identified the shooter as 15-year-old as Nehemiah Griego - Greg Griego's son.

Police believe the teenager used an AR-15 semi automatic rifle in the shooting. Multiple weapons were retrieved from the house.

KOB 4 is told that Nehemiah Griego called someone after the incident, and that person called 911.

Greg Griego is the brother of former state Sen. Eric Griego.

The family released the following statement.

"Our family is grieving this terrible tragedy. We appreciate the prayers and support we have received and request that the media honor our family's privacy during this difficult time."

He and his family are also well-known among a local Christian faith community in Albuquerque.

For years, Griego was a pastor at Calvary on Osuna. Members of the faith community were crying Sunday - their hearts broken as they heard the shocking news.

Griego is being remembered as a kind-hearted, family man.

During his years of service at one of Albuquerque's biggest churches, he was not only a pastor, but also had a profound impact in jail ministry and chaplain programs.

Calvary's executive director told KOB Eyewitness News 4, Griego's wife and children attended church every week and were extremely involved in the Christian faith community.

Those who knew him said they were blind-sided to hear Griego and his family won't be coming back.

"Greg loved his family, he loved his church, he loved God, and was very involved with and had love for people in prison," Brian Nixon, Calvary executive director, said. "He headed up our jail ministry, he had a passion for people and to help them."

Nixon said, Griego took a leave of absence from being a pastor last year, but he and his family remained very involved.

Fire Chief James Breen said the Albuquerque Fire Department is also mourning the loss of Griego adding he was a spiritual counselor for many of the firefighters.

Nehemiah Griego has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder, and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.

A black boyfriend Piper met over the internet became enraged and brutally beat her. He then recruited another black man to throw acid on her face.

Sulfuric acid burned through all four layers of the skin on the 26-year-old’s face and neck.

She was left blind in one eye, unable to eat from the damage to her throat, and in need of over 30 corrective operations to repair the damage.

Piper begged relatives to kill her as she laid in a hospital bed after the attack. She has spent the last 18 months undergoing surgeries. She appeared on British television wearing a plastic mask over the weekend. All of the British media is praising her now, but none are talking about the obvious.

AIDS

A 2004 report by the CDC says that AIDS is the:

* the leading cause of death for black women aged 25–34 years.
* the 3rd leading cause of death for black women aged 35–44 years.
* the 4th leading cause of death for black women aged 45–54 years.

By way of comparison, AIDS was only the 11th leading cause of death for white women aged 25-34!

Homicide

The same CDC reports say that homicide is the:

* the leading cause of death among black men aged 15-34 years.(Three age categories!)

* the second leading cause of death for black women aged 15-24 years.
* the fifth leading cause of death for black women aged 25-34 years.

Among women aged 15-24, homicide accounts for 5% of premature deaths in white females, but 20% of all premature deaths by black females.

The majority of black female homicide victims are killed by a current or former boyfriend, which many refer to as “femicide.” About 93% of all black homicide victims are killed by a black perpetrator overall. 85% of white homicide victims are killed by a white perpetrator.

“The National Black Women’s Health Project” has identified the battering of women as the number one health issue for African American women (Joseph, 1997).

Femicide is a leading cause of premature deaths in African American women aged 15-44.(Journal of Issues in Nursing Vol 7, No. 1)

In 1998, Salber and Taliaferro reported that the spousal homicide rate among African Americans is 8.4 times more than for whites. The incidence of spousal homicide is 7.7 times higher in interracial marriages compared to intraracial marriages.(Source WebMD.com )

Whites commit 70% of all USA crime, Blacks commit 29% but you need to look at the evidence which shows that even the official stats can not be taken at face value.

So where are the statistics that show black men are such dangerous rapists? It comes from comparing not all rapes but just interracial rapes. Comments like this often appear on this blog:

That looks solid: the New York Times said so! Except that it did not: there is no such article.

I looked up the numbers for myself:

The FBI does not break out numbers for interracial rape but the Justice Department does for “rape and sexual assault”– based on a crime victim survey it does every year. But interracial rape is so rare that there are fewer than ten cases in its sample. So you cannot draw any firm statistical conclusions.

On television rape is a dark-alley crime, but in fact strangers commit only 2% of rapes. Half are done by current or former boyfriends, dates and husbands. Interracial rape is rare for the same reasons that interracial marriage is rare. So rare that there are not even solid government figures on it.

But better numbers would not help: after all, if you applied the same reasoning to numbers on marriage it would “prove” that black men are by nature also more likely to marry.

The argument is built not on sound reasoning and solid facts but on white fears that go back at least to Jim Crow times.

We are all equals and there is an unwarranted belief that whites are superior and many whites like to feel that way.
