Where are these billions coming from?

It is nice to propose but unfortunately there is no money to buy it. After the memory of the crash fades and the hoopla subsides this will go right back on the backburner. The auto braking system should have been in place from the start, the freight train operators should not have been allowed to squelch the installation. It would have cost less in the dollars of that day than now and the nation still had an economy then to pay for it.

Spend whatever it costs? Perhaps the cost should be borne by the riders. In this era of deficits, adding one more burden to the budget (aka., the taxpayer) is not needed.

Perhaps the mayor could give up his silly dream of a subway to the sea and give the money to Metrolink.

1st step towards improvement. Don't hire a gay engineer who likes to text message boys while he is working.

Bilions for this. Billions for that... Where is all this money coming from?

When will our governmental agencies at ALL LEVELS realize we don't have to zip straight to the 23rd century in 20 minutes?

We don't have the money right now! We have to scale back at all levels until we do. Its time we get back to being a cash society for a while.

Everyone needs to live within their means. Families and governments alike. If you don't have the cash to pay for it, don't buy it on credit!

I notice that all of these billions goes into the same hands of the same people whose prior stewardship brought Metrolink the honor of being the deadliest railroad in the country. Where is the accountability for past failure? We are to intrust more billions to this same bunch? This is the same group that fired their spokeswoman for telling the truth. Are we to expect transparency for all our billions?

I will believe they intend to improve their system when they appoint that spokeswoman to their board. That, to me, would at least signal accountability.
