Basically they should trade the entire team. However, that won't be possible. So here is what they should do.

1. Send Q Richardson to either Atlanta for 2 expiring contracts and a lottery protected #1 or Cleveland for the expiring contract of Ira Newble, Damon Jones and a top 7 protected number 1. Q richardson puts either team in the playoffs.

2. Send Jared Jeffries to Orlando for the expiring contracts of Garrity and Carlos Arroyo. This gives Orlando a better chance to advance in the playoffs.

3. Send Curry to the Lakers with Freddie Jones for Brown's expiring contract, Javaris Crittenton and a 2010 #1 pick. The Knicks can build with Crittenton a year from now, the Lakers can win an NBA championship now with Curry as the missing piece.

4. Send Jamal Crawford to Toronto for Nesterovic's expiring contract and an unprotected 2009 #1 from Toronto. Crawford gives Toronto a chance to compete with Detroit while this helps the Knicks rebuild.

5. If the Knicks send Randolph to Milwaukee then Jianlin has to be part of the package. Otherwise I'd send Randolph to Utah for Kirilenko and a 2009 #1. You have similar contracts plus Kirilenko would be more of a role player once the Knicks are under the cap and can sign two studs.

6. I'd trade Marbury for a pile of horse manure but no NBA team will make that deal. Knicks are stuck with him til next yr. Personally I would not even dress him and not allow him near the young players I'm bringing in. He's a horrible person.

if the Knicks got a bag of groceries for their entire team that would be a good trade.

The Knicks are a disaster. Fire Isiah and lets rebuild.

SmartKnicksfan - From your lips to god's ears.

1. Send Q Richardson to either Atlanta for 2 expiring contracts and a lottery protected #1 or Cleveland for the expiring contract of Ira Newble, Damon Jones and a top 7 protected number 1. Q richardson puts either team in the playoffs.

Just send him somewhere. I doubt we will get the draft pick, but just getting him off the team makes us better.

2. Send Jared Jeffries to Orlando for the expiring contracts of Garrity and Carlos Arroyo. This gives Orlando a better chance to advance in the playoffs.

Please - Makes this happen. I like Arroyo.

3. Send Curry to the Lakers with Freddie Jones for Brown's expiring contract, Javaris Crittenton and a 2010 #1 pick. The Knicks can build with Crittenton a year from now, the Lakers can win an NBA championship now with Curry as the missing piece.

And what happens to Bynum? If LA will go for it, I'm all for it. Would love Crit on the team and Brown actually plays better D than Curry. Again - make this happen.

4. Send Jamal Crawford to Toronto for Nesterovic's expiring contract and an unprotected 2009 #1 from Toronto. Crawford gives Toronto a chance to compete with Detroit while this helps the Knicks rebuild.

Do it baby!

No way in the world do the Bucks give up Jianlin for Randolph. That's the drugs talking. Same for K-Rock. Sloan would hate Randolph. Man doesn't play defense. But I'll take Charlie V and Simmons from the Bucks, just to get Randolph off the team

6. I'd trade Marbury for a pile of horse manure but no NBA team will make that deal. Knicks are stuck with him til next yr. Personally I would not even dress him and not allow him near the young players I'm bringing in. He's a horrible person.

I'm with you. Hasta la vista baby. Let JCrit and Arroyo run the point. Work out a buy out deal with Marbury and let him sign with another team.

I'd prefer to watch this starting 5 for the rest of the season:

PF - David Lee
SF - Charlie Villeneuva
C - Kwame Brown
SG - Nate Robinson
PG - Arroyo/JCrit

Smart Knick Fan, I like the plan. Any plan that rids this team of all these losers except Lee and Nate, is ok by me.

But uh, how do you figure Crawford, Curry and Q can bring in #1 picks? Curry to the Lakers, maybe, but I doubt Phil Jackson would support it.

I also heard rumors today of Starbury going in exchange for Tracy McGrady....Funny trade. McGrady would set a Knicks record for pouting.

All of those things you mentioned sound great Smart but none of those things could happen. The only truly smart thing to do would be to try and unload Randolph or Curry for an expiring contract since either could help a contending team make a huge splash in the playoffs. Listen, I have been a Knicks fan for the greater part of 20 years and it hurts me as a fan to see them as bad as they are but I would much rather deal with this crappy team for 2 more years and get 2 lottery picks to add talent than start trading for more crappy contracts. When Marbury's, Q's, Francis's, etc's contracts end in 2010 they will have cap room, young talent to sign or resign, and a crop of FA's that include Lebron and Wade to go after. Hey and I got one more thing. At least they aren't as bad as the Heat...Tee Hee.

This is all so boring.....there isn't one Knick on this team that a real Knick fan would care about. This isn't a team. It's 12 players playing for themselves with a bad coach and management. They deserve one another.

Note: See how Portland is doing once they got rid of this head case called "Zack"?

Note: Notice how Chicago is now a playoff team once they got rid of "Crawford and Curry"?

Notice how Phoenix and the Nets got better once they got rid of Marbury?

Notice the theme of this post?....its a team of players who've never been with a winner AND the teams they were on prior in their careers simply got better AFTER they left.

Thomas is a POOR judge of character PERIOD. Indiana unloaded him QUICKLY....wonder why??....a terrific basketball town telling Thomas...sayanara!!.....let New York have 'em before he sinks the Pacers.

<yawn> This team is so boring and overpriced tickets to see nothing more than them going thru the motions like they are sneering at their fans saying "Hey, I get paid, you want me to expand some effort too?".....

They are one of the biggest jokes we've had in New York in a very long time.

Joe - yes, that's what struck me, too. I mean, I like both Nate and Lee, but neither of them should be untouchable. The only players who should ever be untouchable are players who are among the very best at their positions in the league, and it has been a long time sine the Knicks had anyone of that stature.

At the same time, I shudder at the thought of Isiah making ANY moves at this point, because of the potential to make things worse. Not that the product on the floor could get any worse - I think the team has pretty much hit rock bottom - but the potential to further hamstring future managers in dealing for players is a real problem.

Dealing Randolph is probably close to impossible without taking in return yet another salary cap disaster. Dealing Curry probably IS impossible because of his lackadaisical attitude over the past month or so, and the fact that he's been so out of shape.

Barring the intervention of the league or another team stupid enough to take the Knicks off the hook by absorbing some of these silly contracts, we're looking at a minimum of three years before we see any real progress.

I respect your oppinion but those trades are ridiculous. Randolph for Kirilenko and a #1? Are you crazy? You couldn't even get a #1 for Randolph. Q is going to put a team into the playoffs? Have you watched him play this year. He been nothing short of putrid.
They need to get rid of isiah and start from scratch, which will probably take three or four more years. That's the kind of mess that they're in.

these are the only players that i like and what i believe the team can start to build around...

1.Lee..greater rebounder and finisher- if he develops a jumper he will has the potential of becoming an allstar

2.Nate- of course has great athletic ability..3 point shooting is better, starting to play smarter

3.Crawford- is becoming a better defender each game, has always been able to score

4.Balkman- brings much neede intensity, shot blocking and defense

these players need to go..
1.q-richardson- worst knick on the team
2.marbury- riuns every team he goes to
3.curry- one of the worst big men in terms of defense
4.j. james- garbage
5.morris- shows no signs of development

these players can dont' bother me- tradable
1.collins- good defender and only true pass first point gaurd
2.rookie- chandler- hasn't been able to play
3.jeffries- not a big fan but he been producing
4.rose- only true veteran with championship experince and team leader in locker room
5.zBo- great rebounder but stops flow of game (ballhogger)
6.f. jones- has been playing well

should have kept frye and ariza
would have had young core group along with crawford
1. lee
2. frye
3. nate
4. balkman
5. ariza
-something to build around

Either trade Curry for a center that can defend and rebound or trade Randolph for a power foward that can defend and rebound. No team can win with two bigs that can't defend. Maybe they can play a 3-2 zone when these two are in together?

THOSE TRADES U PROPOSED ARE RIDICULOUS, GETTING RID OF JEFFRIES, AND Q-RICH IS GONNA BE HARD WORK... WE CERTAINLY ARENT MOVING UP IN THE DRAFT FOR ANY OF THOSE GUYS.. THE ONLY PROSPECTS THE KNICKS HAVE TO TRADE, THAT MIGHT POSSIBLY GET US ANYTHING DECENT IN RETURN, ARE BALKMAN AND LEE.... THE KNICKS ARE JUST GONNA HAVE TO SUCK FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS, LET THE CONTRACTS EXPIRE ON THERE OWN, AND SIGN LEBRON OR BOSH IN 2009-10 SEASON.... MAYBE IF WERE LUCKY WE CAN TRADE RANDOLPH FOR SOME ONE DECENT JUST SO WE CAN BE ENTERTAINED FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS.... PS. THE KNICKS ARE FN IDIOTS IF THEY DONT DRAFT ERIC GORDON OF INDINIA, BAYLESS,MAYO,AND WESTBROOK DONT HAVE HALF THE TALENT THAT KID HAS

How bout this trade: The 2 F's the Pacers got from the Raptors + Jamaal Tinsley for Randoff??????

Or how bout this:
Jamaal Tinsley, Marquese Daniels, & Eric McRoberts for Zach Randoff???????/

Or the Pacers could just give you Jamaal Tinsley, Marquiese Danniels and Shawnie Williams for Randoff.

SOUND GOOD??????????
