We all have our opinions =) I respect yours and it has valid points, but perhaps you've never heard of optomism and a little faith for the team.. Not that I'm not saying you're not a fan, in fact, you know more than me I'd bet, but like the Magic have never proven yet with a title, it's easier to criticize.. than to maybe see there's a shot at a title in this 4 yr span or so.
Ewing please teach Howard some more, you've done great so far, really, but we could see a little outside shot or some more post-up moves. I hate that LMAO is right about this. for now..:p Oh, or just improve the FT % instead atleast... I hear the Spurs are changing the name of Hack a Shaq technique to Thwart a Dwight..

I so agree about Howard. Besides Ewing the Magic need to hire a free throw coach, Dallas did it and the team average jumped. Just getting Howard to hit 65% of his free throws would be nice any higher would be great. Plus please teach Howard how to pass out of double teams instead of turning ball over or committing an offense foul. Howards shooting average is just above 50% which says a lot. It says that Howard can't shoot the ball he can only dunk that has to improve or Howard will just be a beast in looks, but not in action.
Howard said recently because of many things that he wouldn't be working on his game until some time after this coming season. So I don't think the Magic will see any real improvement in that area until (dread)the new arena is opened.
I guess Howard just doesn't see the need to get better all that fast since he isn't all that old and he got his contract extension. I just hope that was just some silly statement by him instead of fact.

Youth isn't the problem. He's a natural "stone hands" and may never overcome that...dont get me wrong Dwights gonna get accolades for a long time, but really there's a whole bunch of 6'10" and up guys that have a ton more skills than he has.

I actually am an Optimist but my fault is also being more of a Realist.
Dumb things just for the sake of being loyal P me off , LOL.

God I hope JJ gets to the Grizz better yet the Knicks.. better yet anywhere outta the quagmire Otis & SVG have here!

HELLO!!! I have left the Magic and just signed with the Hawks. Why is no one talking to me?? I was the starting "2" man, why is this not a bigger story? These Sentinel beat "off" writers must be on vacation, all 5 of them.

I had to read about myself in the Florida Today and espn.com

I think all of those teams, except Toronto improved a lot more then you are giving credit for. I also see the Heat improving their record thought I still don't see them in the playoffs.
The compared to several of the teams you mentioned actually fell backwards instead of forward and yes I am including Philly in that statement.
I also thought that the Magic would get to the second round that doesn't prove anything, because that was last year we are talking about this upcoming season now last year.
When it comes to Pietrus he is not a starter he is a backup and the Warriors were only so happy that he is gone and I am not just talking about their fans, but coach's as well.
When Pietrus didn't get his way he pouted a lot and didn't or wouldn't put out for his team.
The Magic are going to learn the hard way if they use this guy as a starter.
When it comes to Lee he is unproven, yes he had a nice summer league, but so did Redick last year and we all know where that got him.
So before you pencil him in as the backup SG lets see how he does in the pre-season that should be an interesting wakeup call for the Magic fans who have been hog wild over Pietrus and Lee.
With our current budget I'm happy with what Otis did...got a more athletic defensive SG in Pietrus who didn't play steady minutes in Golden State. As for being a stater...he was originally the guy that was supposed to replace Richardson, but, with different coaching changes the past couple of years might've complicated things as well. And yes, all players complain...period. As for him being a starter on our team...you better get used to it. If you are a TRUE Magic Fan then would supportive in what your GM is doing. He is the one who drafted Pietrus back then and knows what he brings. He should and will be graded based on how he defends Wade, LBJ, Rip Ham., etc. You won't be able to grade him in the pre-season, but, maybe the chemistry with the team...if that is what you meant. Either way...GO MAGIC!!!

So what you are saying is that Pietrus is a starter, he just never started unless someone was hurt and that pre-season is not a place to judge his play, but we have to wait for the regular season to get over then we decide if he is starter material and here is the kicker we all have to support Otis Smith to be a proper Magic fan.
Talk about being in FANTASY LAND. Pietrus has never been starter material ever and has not improved his game instead he just got worse and yes some players get upset. PIETRUS WAS UPSET ALL OF THE TIME IF HE DIDN'T GET HIS WAY and when he was like that forget about him really showing up on the court. Oh and yes Magic fan who does not think all that much about the job Otis Smith is doing and guess what there are a lot more of us out there then there are supporters of Smith.
You might want to dig that hole your head is sticking in just a little deeper, because your certainly going to need the cover.

honestly he never started because nellie fell in love with monta ellis. so and nellie already had stephen jackson in the sf position so there was really no more minutes to be had. i think under consistent minutes he could prove to be a solid starter.

Actually here is the real truth. He has a problem hitting his free throws (not as bad as Howard, but up there). Turnovers a major problem for him as well as committing a lot of fouls.
Defensively, Pietrus has the potential to be a stopper due to his length and quickness, but hasn?t quite put the whole package together yet. He still makes mental errors and gambles too much, and had the ninth-worst rate of fouls per minute at his position.

well playing out of position will cause you to be inefficient. which is why lewis isn't playing as well as he could be playing.
also once pietrus spoke up he was automatically put into the dog house.
"I want to be moved," said Pietrus, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and has no plans of returning to Oakland. "I want to be moved. I want to be moved. I want to be traded."
'I definitely want to be traded to another team that I can help at the (shooting guard or small forward) position,' Pietrus said.'I think that it was good to play (power forward and center), but it's not really my primary spot. It's not where I'm so efficient. So I want to move on.'
Now this last part, of course, just reiterated what his agent was trying to get across yesterday, that the whole "Nellieball" thing wasn't really flowing with Pietrus, because he had to spend so much time playing out of position. Pietrus also apparently feels a bit slighted for losing so much time to Steven Jackson after helping make the Warriors good (or something).
