Too bad.., Yao is so great to watch. Laker fans, don't think this is a good thing. Lakers play only as hard as they need to, and sometimes less.
They may screw this up yet.

i'm a laker fan but honestly, i'm not happy to hear the news. i used to play basketball and like yao and other injured players, i had my own misfortunes too. i know how it feels to be wanting to play and help your team but unable to.
i hope yao gets 100% well.

I am a Laker fan. No Laker fan could enjoy seeing Yao in the pain he was in during the final minutes of last night's game. I hope he can be present, cheering for his team during the remainder of this series. I'm sorry he won't be out there on the floor.

im a big laker fan and i dont wish anything like this on any opponents. Not all of us are happy about it. We actually enjoyed the challenge but now it just got easier for the lakes. houston is gonna play extra hard now so lets no be too confident, just keep pouring some points and dont let them erase our lead

Look. Just because we are happy to win the series, it doesn't mean we are happy to see a player go down. Indeed, no true Laker fan would want that to happen: We want to beat other teams at their best; that way there is no doubt of who is the best. No what ifs. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

this is one of the most offensive articles that i have ever read. Most Laker fans are pissed that yao is out and pissed that Artest got the ejection. This so called journailst was next on the docket and had nothing to write so she creates this drivel. Laker fans should be insulted.Nobdy except in the this journalist's own twisted mind is happy to see players injured. what a low grade piece of crap article

Its a shame that Yao's foot was hurt.
But the Lakers were going to close it out Tuesday bad foot or not.
Get well Tex.

I too wish the Rockets still had Yao to defend against but considering the unique size of this giant, why would any basketball team think these big players wouldn't or couldn't be injured on a regular basis in these tough playoffs?

I would think the Rockets would have to have an alternative that would be almost as tough on the sidelines and if they don't they don't deserve to win against our Lakers based on poor strategic team planning anyway.

Remember when we counted on Shaq and Kobe as our powerhouse and shaq got injured? It's common on these big frames.

Lets just hope Kobe stays healthy or we'll all be in the same boat here in LA. Yikes!

after this series I have great respect for Yao Ming he seem to be a down to earth very nice and funny guy, the guy can shoot I hope he comes back really healthy next year I personally was very sad that he got hurt I am confident that we can win with any teams full lineup and if we can't then we don't deserve the championship so I for one want the other teams full line up.

I am not going to read anymore of your articles during the playoffs. You are too negative. This is your second negative article in seven days toward the Lakers. Its okay to pound on the Lakers when they lose badly to the opposition but to assume that all Laker fans are happy to see Yao out is silly. The Lakers did win two games.....with Yao playing.

There is an inclination to want the tough guys out --- if you don't agree, I think you are not being honest with yourself. But, it is not what is best. At the very least I'd like the Lakers to win because they are the best, not out of attrition. I don't want anyone to say they only won because Yao was out. I feel the same about Boston. I don't want KG to be an excuse for Orlando to win. Let's have everyone healthy and at their best --- and see what occurs.
