My biggest worry is that; could we have traded our softest player to get even a softer player? I hope that Morrison proves me wrong because a good shooter is what the Lakers really need. BYe Bye Vlad Rad.

I think this will prove to be a great trade. To beign with, Luke and Trevor are better...for the Lakers...then Radman. The issue of minutes suddenly goes away there. Luke has really been coming on, not on any stat sheet, but in those little 'Luke' things he has always done well for the Lakers. And Ariza just needs minutes.

Brown will be the immediate help from this trade. It will be nice to have another guard option...especially one that is defensive minded. he is good, and has a lot of potential with the right system.

Morrison...well...let's give the kid a break. He had a pretty good rookie year on a really bad bobcat team with a bad coach. He got hurt in pre-season and missed all of last year...and then, to make it worse, he had to rehab and come back to the same bad bobcat team, only this time it was for Larry Brown. Yikes. The kid has not really had the kind of development he needed.

I think with Morrison we look at him as if he is a rookie with a fresh start. Don't expect too much too soon, and watch for little improvements...the kind that could make him a long term sharpshooter that he is...based on his college performance...capable of becoming, if he learns to do it in the NBA. I can understand not thriving and growing in Charlotte. He is in a much better place now. He is on a team that can actually afford him the time and training to grow beyond where he is.

This trade is great. I see it much like I saw the Cook/Evans for Ariza trade last year. We are seeing now just how amazing that deal was. I think this one has the potential of being the same.

mitch, you've done it again. Hell just losing the space cadet is addition by subtraction. Morrison, give him time, he's a smart Luke Walton type player with a great outside shot when he can spot up, the triangle should suit him well. He can't create his own shots, but neither could Vlade.

Luke Walton is over rated, even the over rated is not enough to describe him. I don't why so many people like him.
Is it because his dad is a laker hater?
Don't compare Morrison to Walton... it's not a good comparison.

Walton has made his career out of his name. He has almost no NBA level talent.

So what! Many pro players in all of the sports have made their careers on their names. Nothing new. They might have the talent as a nobody and never get the chance, so they use what they can. It happens in the arts and entertainment also. Luke is loved by many. Leave him alone.

majorly disagree. Luke has been hamstrung by injuries the last couple of years. Kis has eyes in the back of his head and great court sense. Yeah, he has white mans disease in the speed and jumping dept, but PJ loves his smarts.

I read/viiewed Mad Dog's comments on why /how the Celtics will win the Finals as opposed to the Lakers or the Cavaliers. For giveme for chastising Chris Russo but ../. What the ---- is Chris smoking? Whatever it is ... Here's the antidote "GET REAL!"... For sure the "Mad Dog" tag fits him to a "T "
Really..Mad Dog should get off the video and transfer to the printed page...Its easier to respond to his crazy notions.

With guys like Morrison, with all the talent in the world, all he has to do is work hard. If he comes in with the right mentality and patience. He could be a star on the lakers even in the near future. This is season is really just to get him back in game shape and earn trust on that knee. Next season he could be a force for the lakers, and if he learns the triangle, he'll definately be a starter over luke next year. With a guy with his scoring ability will keep the defense honest on kobe and pau. Luke Walton, Vlad, and Ariza all get open shots. None of them can't knock them down consistently although Ariza is improving. But Morrison could be that guy.

Lakers made a great trade i think everybodys wrong about morrison i just saw some highlights of what he did in bobcat land and he was puttin up halfcourt shots driving to the hoop getting layups, blocking the ball playing defence all things that vladi didnt know how to do. maybe morrison shouldnt have been drafted so high but that doesnt mean he wont be a good nba player i would compare him to walton from what ive seen of him and trust me havin kobe gasol phil jackson and derek fisher teach you some stuff cant hurt you. what did the bobcats expect of morrison that he would be jordan lol hes gonna be another great staple of the lakers bench for some time i hope. and shannon brown is one of the best defensive guards ive seen he shutdown kobe...well at least slowed him down to the point where the lakers didnt win. Go lakers sonics are in trouble lol

Good Trade in the sense that it gives Ariza some more playing time. I will still miss Rad's 3's though, but then again we have Vujacic who can shoot 3's and play annoying defense. This is our year. GO LAKERS!
