What a surprise! Pax said he wanted a defensive coach first and DelNegro said he wants defensive approach first and presto he's hired.
Boy the jury will be out on this until all-star break of next season. Then we will know if DelNegro can coach or not. 3 years later we will find out if DelNegro can keep the attention of his players.
With new hires, just can't make a judgement until they have had a chance to prove themselves.

"Paxson defended the thorough nature and result of the search, which included high-profile dalliances with Mike D'Antoni and Doug Collins." Johnny Pax defended his thorough search....yet still wound up with a no-name that has zero coaching experience. This is what took 5+ months to decide????

VDN talks about his coaching philosophy. What philosophy? He has never even coached at the high school level.

A laughable choice for a laughable team.

The only way we should have accepted this deal is if we could have traded Hinrich for him.

You know I am kind of starting to like this. Seven Second or Less approach to basketball is coming to Chicago. Hopefully we win more 125-110 games then we lose.

Remember the first time someone asked you to try sushi? Your immediate thought was normally, "Raw fish won't sit well with me." But after you gave it a shot you were pleasantly surprised by the taste.
I'm looking at Vinny D the same way. Sounds terrible, but you never know unless you try.
Yeah?

well bulls fans...at least you didn't get tim floyd, bill cartwright, boylan, collins...i feel sorry for us fans. i have no faith in this org. my guess is when the bulls start 0-10, pax gets fired, vinny moves into the front office and reinsdorf puts his son in charge of this mess. I'm just thankful I'm not a season ticket holder.

We are quick to judge.....D'Antoni was overrated....Larry Brown?? please...Collins has been out of the league for how long??? Big names don't mean much..I would have liked at least an experienced coach but in reality, most coaches with experience have been fired multiple times. Vinny hasn't been fired yet so let's give him a chance. Denis Savard was never a head coach, how is he looked at now..Ozzie...?? Lovie???

D'Antoni = 267-172 with four 50+ win seasons

Larry Brown = 1239 regular season wins; 231 playoff wins as an NBA and ABA coach

Doug Collins = 332-287 as a coach; 415 NBA games as a player with a 17.9 ppg scoring average

Lovie = Defensive coordinator with Rams prior to becoming head coach of Da Bears

Ozzie = 3rd base coach for the World Series champion Marlins before becoming manager of the Sox

Yep - all overrated or with no experience.......

I dont think you are a real Bulls fan you are probably a Bucks fan trying to raise doubt did someone ever give you a chance and say well jenny you stink even before you tried? well get real you a season ticket hell you probably cant afford a nose bleed seat letalone aseason ticket holder. and furthermoe the season ticketholders have been comin since the 98 season and you know how bad we were until skiles came, so dont whine just support the man until he proves he cant do the job, I would give you the same support at your mcd's job
