Good point, but Vinny hasn't even had experience as an ASSISTANT. I'm pretty sure Ozzie did and Lovie was D-Coordinator for the Rams.
In Logic they called this "Streching the Unreal". There is no example. These men were Great Hall of Fame type player's. Vinny is Zero.

The Bulls are paying this 'nobody' $2 mil/year. I have the same amount of NBA coaching experience, and I would have taken the gig for $1.5 mil/year. The Dorfer could have save another half milski/year if I had been hired as coach.

Crazy world..but, this is why the Italian "Vinny" get's the job. He is a white guy, which means he's intelligent, a student of the game, his dad was a great man; he played for North Carolina state's coach "V". All the intangible's that don't add up to nothing but "NO Experience" but, his white skin and his dream. And the white media goes right along with it. If they hired Isaih Thomas, a Chicago native, a great basketball player at all levels, a championship star player at all levels; a great coach at Indiana pro team; a coach who took a losing squad of the New York Knicks. Don't tell me Vinny know's more about coaching than Issaih? Playa Racist hater's.
How do you explain no-experience Michael Curry being hired by the Pistons? How do you explain the flop in Milwaukee, Terry Porter, being hired by the Suns? In your stupid way of thinking a guy like Isaiah Thomas who was a flop with the Knicks should coach the Bulls. Don't forget he was also guilty of sexually harassing a black Knicks' employee.

I have to admit an article like this would be a lot easier for fans to tolerate if Chicago had the consistent pro winners of a Boston, LA, NY, even San Antonio (in basketball). The only incentive owners really have is looking at empty seats and we know that's not going to happen in Chicago.

Enjoy Baseball Season fellow Chicago sports fans, because the after October, there will be nothing even close to winning until baseball starts up again in Spring. It's horrible what the Bears and Bulls are turning into. I turned down Bulls tickets to around 20 games this just because it is disgusting to see what that team has turned to. They need to do a lot of trading and signing of new players and get most of that team out of here. The majority of our starters would barely be bench players on other squads.

Why do you ignore the Blackhawks? They will be the talk of Chicago next winter.

VDN is gonna have a heck of a time trying to coach up these millionaire prima donnas. If he has the cojones to bench the lazy, crybabies and play the hardworking players, then he got a chance to earn the respect of the rest of the team.

True, Ozzie was coach for the 2003 World Series champ Marlins and Lovie was the D-coordinator with the Rams. But if are looking at first time HEAD coaches, then you forgot one. DA COACH!('85 Super Bowl Champs)
Coach Ditka was hired in 1982, 3 years before he coached the Bears to a Super Bowl!

This was a terrible hire. There is no other way to describe this. First the job was offered to Collins then it wasn't and now you have a no experience guy. the last time something similar happened in Chicago was when Dave McGinnis was offered the Bears job and then it went to Dick Jauron. That turned out well huh? The biggest crime here, and the one no one is talking about, is why didn't Flip Saunders even get an INTERVIEW? He was by far and away the best choice out there.

Reinsdorf is ruining the future of this team. Lets not forget that Paxton approved of D'Antoni and Collins of being hired and Reinsdorf just screwed around and let him slip through. We need new owner who cares about this team and fans. This coaching hire of Del Negro is a slap to the face to all of us fans. Bulls better get Rose...or Beasley at the very least, or else I'm through supporting this team.

lOL Apparently you know nothing about Isiah and his conflicts with the Bulls he has about much a chance to become coach of the Bulls as ozzie becoming the manager of the Cubs Isiah did some wild do do against the Bulls when he was with the pistons and he even tried to get other players to not pass MJ the ball during an all-star game an that color crap you are referring too is full of crap Vinny did not get the job because he is white, and avery did not get the job because he is black. Avery made it clear that he wanted to make Cuban pay and made it known that he was sitting out when the Bulls got the first pick then his arse wanted to ebcome Bulls coach. But again Isiah bring him to coach the Bulls would have been a slap in the face of MJ and Reinsdorf would never consider Isiah for a janitor job at the local pub

wow thats means when teh Bulls started to lose from 98 on you were not a fan. Well too bad but get this the Bulls are gonna get Rose or beasley. How is vinny a slap in the face? i THINK BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT you should give the guy a chance what about you everything you did you were fullof experience? Did someone every give you a chance? were so experience? What if vinny leads them to the nba title like non-experience coaches in the NBA like pat riley, phil Jackson to name 2
