They embarassed MSU, which does not often happen in the tourney to a team coached by Izzo. He's a great coach, and his teams are usually very prep'd for the tourney.

No doubt that Izzo's teams are well coached, but last night they were over matched and the game plan they used against Conneticuit didn't work against UNC.
Remember, UNC was the number one ranked team at the beginning of the season and they were a surefire bet to reach the Final Four.

MSU beat UConn because they attacked the boards and out rebounded them, despite their lack of size. That allowed them to get 2nd and 3rd shots, and also get out on their fast break for easy points. UNC thoroughly controlled the boards last night. No 2nd shots, and no fast break points. That left MSU the task of outplaying UNC, and they have nowhere near the talent to do that.

I agree, they were definetly over matched.

They did have one helluva run though, and beat some very good teams.

Yes, that is true.
I was impressed by the teams they beat in the tournament and higher seeded teams at that.
Their play in the tourney shows the great coaching Izzo did wqith that team.
Look out, they'll be dangerous next season as only one starter was a senior.
If the underclassman don't declare for the NBA draft, they are going to be a tough team to beat.
Roy Williams is going to re-load and recruit good players to defend their title.
Then again, UNC always recruits good players who want to play in his system.
He's another great coach.

I like the sports forums, it dosen't get monotonous like some of the other forums.
You can agree, disagree and agree to disagree without all of that nastiness that takes place on the other forums.

I agree, but if you look at any of the Yankee / Mets forums, it gets pretty heated in there. Personally I like to have fun in there, and there are some mature folks that you can playfully banter with, while still respecting them.

Then, there are the mental midgets........

Who are you telling?
I visited the Mets and Yankess blogs just to get a pulse on what they're talking.
Some of those people are crazy, scary and you're right, mental midgets.
But for the most part, more civil than the oither forums.
It seems the political ones, current events or any of the Topix forums brings out the worst in some people.
I look at them still, but not as often as I used to, they've gotten too mental for me.
I've seen some where a poster, that I'm not going to name and you've seen his postings many times, has manic and psychotic episodes on Topix forums as well as being a multiple personality screen namer. You probaly know who I'm speaking about.
I'll give you a hint, He's on any and every forum that is about Obama and if his viewpoint differs from yours, he'll use your screen name to reply to you or to start a forum about Obama as well.
I stay away from that particular poster, the indivual is a nut.

LOL
I'm sure I've read this persons rants, but just don't realize the games he plays. With the exception of a few, I don't usually look at the posters info. As far as the mentality goes over there, sports is entertainment, whereas Obama's doings actually effect more lives. There are many who are gleefull he won the election, with differing reasons, and there are many who are "not too happy", for which I am one. I do hope for the best obviously, and hope I'm wrong about the man. I have been wrong before.........once, I think.

At this point and time as far as Obama is concerned, all we can do is hope for the best and do our part to make things better.
Extremism is on both sides with him, those for him and those against him.
He clearly was the better of the two candidates considering the choices we had.
Sports is entertainment and nothing more, but people get crazy with sports as well.
I go to a number of games each year for the past 29 years and the fans at the ballparks and arenas are scary, very scary with their fanaticism.
It's just a game to me to watch and enjoy, not get crazy, silly or extreme.
As for that poster, yes the majority of his posts are rants, nothing more.
Rarely does anyone respond to them due to the nature of them, which are crazy, insane, and bizzare.
