Nothing beats a good hard scrimmage game against some other team than your own bench riders!

Why waste the time, energy, efforts of a large university on and underling and a 'junior college'?

All of you are missing the point on scheduling a game like this. Both college football and basketball have been doing it for ages and it is actually good for the game. A smaller school like UNC-A benefits from these games, win or lose. It helps in recruiting for the program because kids want to play against the best. UNC-A has made the NCAA tournament before, has a good coach and is a sister-school, it's not like they are a division II or NAIA school. And in 95-96', UNC-A only lost by 17 points and that Tar Heel squad had Vince Carter ,Ed Cota and Antawn Jamison on it.

Playing other schools within your state helps out all the programs. And you never know when a upset might occur...cause they do.(2001-02, Davidson defeats Tar Heels @Chapel Hill 58-54)

tarheelborn, since when did Biedenbach become a good coach? He is a recycled coach from the NC State glory days in the '70s and unfortunately still coaches like he was in the '70s. Basketball strategies and player athleticism have changed dramatically since then. UNC-A needs new blood at the head coach to compete at any level.

A good coach is more than just wins and losses, nctxnc, but he happens to do well in that area, too. Eddie led UNC-A to their only NCAA birth in the program's history in 2003. He won over 20 games last season and made the N.I.T. and continues to recruit top athletes to these mountains. Eddie is great for this program BECAUSE of his experience. I doubt you need to be telling him that the game has changed...he's much more aware of that than you are.

Funny -- I seem to recall Bulldog fans talking smack before last year's game about how they were gonna take down those giant Tar Heels. Now folks are asking why they are even playing UNC? My, how things do change in a year....

But don't feel bad, I wouldn't want none of us either! Just imagine what it would have been if Hansbrough had played -- Ouch!!

Go Heels!!

I feel for George. He is a wonderful kid and was a joy to watch play basketball. I met him after last years' game in Chapel Hill and he was as nice as they come. Huge hands!

told yall folks UNCA aint got enough black players. all you got to do is look out on basketball court, see who has the most black players in starting line up and there is your winner. that wont help you in beating the betting line, but if you can find an idiot to bet you on who will win and who will lost, you can take that fool to the cleaners.
Why do you even participate in conversation on this forum if all you do is 'hate' on people?

WTF??? Where do you get hate out of that??? Unless you are Pete Marivich or that other white guy for the Celtics...Larry Byrd, you KNOW a black man is gonna beat you to the basket---maybe not in outside shots---but consider your arse roughed up under the basket.

Again, too simple for ya??? YOU Sir, read chit into things that create controversy. Chit-stirrer.

How's that? Pretty lame, actually. Neither funny nor clever. More like weak and mundane.
