In a game like this it's easy to extol the offensive achievements of the Pacers, but we have to keep in mind that Memphis has to be the worst defensive team in the NBA. Nevertheless, this Pacers group is looking more like a team than it has in several years. In fact, it is beginning to look deep, really deep.
Yes, Diogu's performance really provided the Pacers with a presence to compliment O'Neal under the basket. In my opinion it was Diogu and an improved defensive effort that finally wrested control of the tempo from Memphis late in the 3rd quarter. Prior to that Memphis was really in flow and rhythm.
But I also like what I saw from Harrison in his few minutes played, and he really looked in shape. Also, Marshall is beginning to make a noticable contribution during his minutes. Actually, in the last two games the second unit has been an important key to the wins.
Finally, I think it's time the Tinsley detractors finally shut up. He has been outstanding since the trade, taking the ball to the hoop and becoming a bona fide scoring threat. He's been willing to play hurt, is providing leadership, and is showing signs of becoming the sort of point guard we all have hoped he would be.

I don't think it's just getting rid of stephen jackson that has helped us out but i also think al still wanted to be the "man" and jermaine already had the job. i am really excited about the guys we have now and i think the pacers can really put a run together to make the rest of the league sit up and take notice

You can't compare IKE to Elton Brand right now. But I can see a slight resemblence in their playing styles. Might just be the best move the PACERS made. This is hard, but I'm trying to remember Clark Kellogg's playing days too. Not fair to IKE to compare with these two guys. Same for Danny Granger's comparison to Scotty Pippen. But IKE'S an incentive for Jermaine to bear down a little more, if he wants all the glory. HOPING!!!

Ike Diagu is probably the best player you got. He was injured most of last year and part of this season. He's yet to show what he can do consistantly because he didn't get the chance to show anything with the Warriors.

Dunleavy will disappoint you in the end, I guarantee it. You can paint stripes on a white horse and say it's a zebra, but at the end of the day you have a horse. He can't shoot, he's soft on defense, he doesn't follow up shots, and he has no heart.

Murphy is really too slow. He's a great rebounder and has a nice touch from the outside. If he played D he would remind me of Dave Debusschere.

In the end you guys will refer to this as the Diagu trade.

Ike is a great player with a lot of talent. The problem is, he went to ASU, where his old coach had no clue on the x's and o's of basketball. If given the opportunity, and the ball on the block, he can be another Elton Brand. He just needs minutes to get comfortable. He needs at least fifteen minutes, and then you will see some major damage. Hopefully next year he will play for a team that will play him.

Great first half tonight for Dunleavy. 1 for 7. Where those some boos I heard?
