McAlpin's minutes in the second half were the most important of the whole game. MD was up twenty when he came in. Him coming into the game signaled to the rest of the team that Gary thought the game was over. Their intensity went down immediately after he entered. On top of that he missed a wide open layup that would have put them up 22. The rest is history. That move and Vasquez's careless ball handling and erratic shooting cost them the game.
Yea,and I'm sure they were never reminded in the last ten minutes that the game wasn't over. This in my opinion is just a ridiculous point. I guess you're right, him missing that layup to put them up twenty two is what did them in.Who knew the two, thats right two, minutes he played in the second half with a 20 point would be so pivotal.

I have never seen somoene overeact and get this upset over an 18-12, 8-7 season in my life. You can sit here and cry about Gary Williams and the mediocre talent on this team this year all you want, but jesus christ we can't be dominate every single year. Since '92 we have made the tourney all but 2 years, and both years we were right on the bubble. Even the best of programs, Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Indiana, UCLA went through tough times and had seasons where they didn't even make the NIT. Newsflash, IT HAPPENS. I don't believe for a second you played D1 anything, because if you did, you wouldn't be so critical, trust me. If you think that Gary is so bad, and his recruits are so bad, then don't donate money, don't go to games, it' as simple as that. I admit last night was an embarassing loss, but in the grand scheme of things, who really cares??.....ask any coach in the ACC if Vasquez is a great player, I guarantee none of them hesitate, yes he makes bad decisions sometimes, but the guy almost pulls a triple double every night, we'd be a lot worse off w/out him. Another sign that you didn't play D1, you wouldn't have been so upset with McAlpin getting a few minutes in his last home game. The guy put in 4 years of work, so he a got a few minutes, big deal, not the reason we lost.....I agree Hayes has been terrible lately, but he's not as bad of a player as you say he is...
I like Mo's seafood downtown. Would you like a profile of my basketball career? If you can't take me to Mo's on my word then shut up. Something tells me you were a a male cheerleader.

Ah yes. The anonymity of the internet. We have one guy assuring us he was a D1 Player and John here would have us believe he throws around twenty five grand.Judging by some of the things you compose and spell here,I am far more concerned about your Degree from MD then the state of the basketball program. If the current coaches aren't to your satisfaction, maybe you should stop being a "donater"
25k was last two years, it was more than that before that...like I said it still goes to turtleu just the college of engineering now.. hard to type when you never learned at 66 still trying to figure it all out..but BSCE, MSCE, MBA helps me with my work but is no help in correcting the athletic department's woes...I don't donate enough money to be heard!
