We could be starting Stephen Curry, Brandon Roy, Luke Babbitt, Demarcus Cousins and Brook Lopez.

We either passed on, or traded away each one of those players in the last few years.

THERE ARE AT LEAST THREE ALL STARS IN THAT GROUP. Instead, we CHOOSE Jonny Flynn, Randy Foye, Martell Webster, Wes Johnson, and Kevin Love.

THE ENTIRE DRAFT / SCOUT TEAM NEEDS TO BE IMMEDIATELY FIRED (i.e. ROB BABCOCK AND JERRY SICHTING)!!!!!!!
This draft sucked

First we screw the pooch by not taking a chance on a potential star in Cousins and instead went the "safe" route on nice guy Johnson. This team desperately needed to swing for the fences and instead we bunted.

Then it got worse. Whenever I see the Timerwolves made a trade during the draft I wonder how badly we got screwed over this time. We traded Gomes and the 16 pick, Babbitt, for Martell freaking Webster?! Apparently, Kahn is keeping McHale's retarded draft day strategy alive. Has anything improved whatsoever w/him in charge? No it has not.

After that I quit caring or paying attention. I guess we stockpiled some more European guys who will never actually play for us.

I was pissed when we didn't move up in the lottery yet again but now I can see that it just doesn't matter with this team. We could have 10 picks in the first round and still find a way to blow it.

Timberwolves = Hopeless.

Listening to the "experts" in the NBA they say in order to build a team from the ground up to a contending team via smart drafting takes 5 to 7 years. The major issues is don't panic and go out and get a marginal player because you think he might be better than the marginal player you already have. Looks like the T-wolves are panicking.

"We did a lot to address several areas toughness, shooting and defense," Kahn said.

So you get ride of Gomes who is a very hard worker and pick up fragile Webster who always seems hurt. Kahn is worse than McHale, and I thought I'd never say that.

Other teams must love to make trades with the Wolves. It always seem that Minnesota makes bonehead drafts and trades on draft day.

Thank You Rational, at least somebody on this board took the time to think about what he wrote before he opened a vein and let all his angst dribble on the floor.

Straight from Yahoo Sports....
Minnesota Timberwolves: Wesley Johnson(notes), Lazar Hayward(notes), Nemanja Bjelica(notes), Paulo Prestes

Listen, I even like Martell Webster(notes). Think highly of him. But to cash in Ryan Gomes'(notes) desirable contract and the 16th pick on Webster? Johnson might be terrible, and a guaranteed contract for Lazar Hayward? What an awful night.

Grade - F

Enough said.

Sooooo, where are all these minutes for Johnson, Brewer, Webster, Ellington, Haywood and Crunch all playing SF going to come from? Maybe they will try an all SF lineup and bring in their all PG lineup in off the bench. A 3 SF draft is just as dumb as the 2 PG draft last year.
Why not draft Cousins then make the trade for Webster to fill the SF. IDK much about Johnson so hope he is everything they say he is but now we have 5 SFs.

There Fixed.

I forgot about Ty Lawson whom is miles ahead of Flynn IMO.

Coming from someone who's lived in Portland for the last few seasons, this is a GREAT trade for the Wolves.

Martell Webster is an instant upgrade. For those of you looking just at the stats, remember that Portland is a team where the small forward spot is usually the 5th option on offense.

He is in no way a "bench guy." He should and will start.

He fills several needs for Minnesota. On defense, I think he automatically becomes the guy you put on the other team's star player.

On offense, he's a pure shooter who should excel in the Triangle offense. He does need to work on creating his own shot, something he wasn't really asked to do in Portland.

Finally, David Kahn actually said it perfectly. The Wolves can NOT be just a bunch of rookies and 2nd year guys. You need someone who's been around the league for a few years. In Webster, you get a veteran AND someone who is still a young guy.

Great Trade for Kahn and company. Wolves fans should be very happy.

Oh, and I just saw someone call him "fragile." He played all 82 games last year on a team that was essentially a MASH unit.

Lawson is still better in many ways especially defense and the ability to run an offense. Really your stats mean nothing cause Lawson came off the bench behind Chancy Billips whom they also tried to shop. Ive seen them both play extensively and my opinion is about as valid as Chad Fords lol. Have a good day.
