Who pissed in your Wheaties? A young team going into a hostile environment like that, not a bad performance. These kids will end up surprising people this year. Painter will end up Big Ten coach of the year, with a good shot at national coach of the year. And he'll do it without putting his school on probation.
With all of the hype about the great recruiting class and Painter turning everything around, how can you call it a surprise. If pu doesn't have a top 20 year and finish high in the Big 10, it will be a total disappointment and underachievment. By the way, Clemson was w/o their best player last night.

If you watched the game, you'd know the Boilers lead the entire second half and just let it slip away against a ranked team on the road. Purdue doesn't lose this game in February. These freshman are good! You'd better use the little brain power you have and worry about what Cellvin Sanction's up to...

Great story by the IU star, did it even mention Kramer's injury?

I would have loved to see a victory last night. Heading into a game on the road against a ranked opponent with three freshmen and two sophomores starting, I didn't think Purdue had a shot. Their effort definitely impressed me. Kramer's decision to go for a dunk in that situation was not a bright one, but the team held it together after losing their captain.

For a group of freshmen, they definitely impressed me last night. They are going to be a fun team to watch. To MK23, who said if they don't have a top 20 year, its a disappointment. C'mon! While this is a great recruiting class, its not the Fab 5. They will be fun to watch this year and it will be interesting to see where they go, but this is not their year to shine. The next 2-3 years will be. Purdue will get more than one year out of this class, unlike IU, and this class will build a solid foundation.

Hey, we see how IU does on the road Saturday against a good team. And it really was not in a hostile environment. Purdue played a top 25 team on their court last night, and, frankly, outplayed them until the end. Before we coronate the Hoosiers, let's see how they do in a similar situation. Some might be disappointed. Will Purdue end up ahead of IU in the Big 10? No. Will IU be the champs in big 10 and reach the final 4? NO!

I gotta tell you that those freshmen have nothing to be ashamed of. They played a hard fought battle and I was impressed with how they looked. They will definitely win their fair share of games this year. And yes, Painter does have them playing well. That had to be a heart breaking loss for them last night!

One of the things that turned the game around was Purdue's inability to handle the press on inbounds plays. You can bet that Painter will plug that leak. Other than that the young guys played pretty well.

The last two games this rag printed the AP story. It is the same story you can find on every national news outlet. They also ran the same PU story last week two days in a row, I think they were trying to confuse us.

Way to Go Boilermakers! This is impressive play from a young team. To be able to compete with the No.18 team on their home court is awesome. This season is going to be great!

What a pathetic article. Yes they lost and we do not want moral victories but this article is all about Clemson and not about how well Purdue played, especially the 4 Freshman. Can we tell this is an IU paper????

Wow, the Bloomington hillbillies are out today, aren't they?

Because they're so scared that they're even locking their trailer doors and hiding their Ford Pintos.

IU plays at HOME. With an EXPERIENCED team. Against an UNRANKED team. And wins by what, 4? And lets the other team score 80 POINTS???? Are you freaking kidding me??????

Purdue plays on the ROAD.

Against a RANKED team.

With four FRESHMAN.

And loses by 3.

And holds the other team to about 61.

No wonder IU is so scared that their toothless fans are all over a Purdue message board.

Painter has taught these guys for four weeks, and they already know more about defense than Pockface Cheater Kelvin Sanctions has taught DJ White in sixty-four weeks.

Here's the kicker: This team is just going to get better and better and better. For FOUR YEARS.

They played a ranked team on the road and came up three points short? After only four weeks under Painter? After only FOUR games?

What do you think it's going to be like after FOUR YEARS?

After TWO HUNDRED AND FOUR weeks?

After 160+ games??????

IU hardly knows what an assist is. Georgia Tech almost doubled IU's assist total. And Gordon took almost 1/3rd of the shots!!!! The other IU players are already looking annoyed by him.

Wait until the end of the season, when Sanctions teams always die. Didn't IU lose to a lower seed in the Big Ten tourney? And didn't IU go 5-6 over their last 11 games last year? And didn't Sanctions last 7 Oklahoma NCAA teams all lose to lower seeds? because Sanctions can't teach teamwork, and the teams fall apart at the end of the year. EVERY YEAR.

Meanwhile, Painter has his teams peaking at the end of the season. For the last two months of last season, Painter's team only lost to No. 1 OSU, NCAA Champ Florida, and at Iowa (who Purdue demolished by 20 in the league tourney).

No wonder IU is scared. Their losing Loosiers lost to an unranked team. They barely beat another unranked team. Meanwhile Purdue has four freshman playing like seniors after only four weeks of coaching.

Oh, and IU cheats, don't they? Over and over and over. 400+ violations for Kelvin Sanctions? Yet they keep him hired!

Wow. You can't read, can you? "Cornbread"? Yet another Bloomington hillbilly.

Here's a tip, Loosiers: Look at the schedules. Purdue will play FIVE ranked teams this year. IU will play TWO.

Thankfully you have Longwood to give you a WIN, since you can't beat Xavier and barely beat an unranked Georgia Tech team! You beat Ill. State by 13 whole points!

I was wondering where you had been guy in Westfield. I had missed your "entire page" posts that no one takes the time to read.

Thanks for contributing your typical garbage.

As far PU - I think they turned out an excellent first showing on the road. Even though clemson was without their best player for the first game this year, I thought PU really controlled most of the game and played excellent D. They just need to keep working and getting better. If they do that they could really be in a similar position that they were last year and get an outside shot at a tournament bid.

Good luck to the Boilers. Hopefully Kramer was just a little dinged up. That would be a tough loss.

Get back at it against ISU.

And he played 40 min. Sampson is placing all the weight on this kid's shoulders. By the time the big ten tournament rolls around this kid will be exhausted and beat up.

While Mr. Painter is using his entire team and getting them valuable experience early in the season, which is what these games are for.
