Time and trophies will help lessen the impact of the name Jerry West, but BB fans older than 50 will not forget West, Robertson, Russell, Frazier, Reed, Chamberlain Unseld, Havlicek, etc. They were great, and deserve the respect given by fans who appreciated their skills, teamwork, and the fact that professional athletes of their era were a different breed. I don't recall all the drugs, greed, or violence among those well known champions that we see today, even from the lesser known fringe athletes. West is gone but not forgotten, and how many players who started in 1960 can keep their star shining so brightly for so long? A winner on the court and in the front office, West is still the standard by which Kupchak and all other GM's will be judged.

Mr. Kupchak's, please dont let Odom leave, he means a lot to this team. He really want to stay in LA and he will be better than last season, because of the confidence he achieved from this championship. understand he give up his pride (starting role) to stay and see the success of this team. please dont let him leave, give him what he deserve or work something out with him.

Kupchak did a really good job with the Lakers & still doing so. So, hats off to him.

The lose of Ariza is not his fault. He just did a sound business decision. Every GM look at the market value of each player, Ariza thought he deserved $7-8M & when the Lakers didn't give it to him he acted like a kid & signed in Houston for the mid-level which he could have gotten in LA.
Artest is a steal for the mid- level. People can say all they want about Artest, but taking less money is a virtue u can rarely see in professional athletes

Give Mitch his due, unconditionally. Jerry West has. When you add the potential for future success, who's done better as a GM in the NBA since 2000?(The answer) No one.Say it! Five Finals teams in 9 seasons!!!! If you don't know he's been pulling the strings to help make that happen then you don't know much about the Lakers, or the NBA.

Dear Kupchak's,

Let me interfere as one of my favorite Team Lakers.I think your players is not a balance from Power to power Compare to another Team Claveland/Boston/Magic.They're a good from power, shooting, defense, height etc.Remember, you have Veterans Coach and you must be equal your team like Chemistry. Of coarse your Boss, will impress your plan if you meet this
Criteria and again win for another Championship round. that's a good news for you!
thank you !

hats off to kupcake for finally getting a clue..im of the opinion that he still receives mentoring from Mr.Clutch..(smells a little like insider trading when there is a valuable piece heisted right under everyone's noses)..lets not be too hasty to anoint him as a genius gm just yet..lets not overlook all the crappy draft picks..brian cook, von wafer..were selected while we passed on ginobilli, tony parker, rashard lewis..lets keep the logo on speed dial??..GO LAKERS...PURPLE REIGN!!

Really im pretty mad about Ariza trade because he was a nice fit to the team. Artest may be a better player but lakers do not need that right know. We got Pau and Kobe and Bynum that can contribute. Artest is a guy that needs to be on a team that is rebuilding or a team that needs a scorer because thats what Artest is not for Ariza roll. I personally think 5 year deal is to big maybe 3 years the most hes going to get old you want a young team. Right know what the lakers need is a decent back up pg i understand fisher is a good player but he can make plays and drive in or move the ball around. I say trade brown and keep farmer because farmer can shoot and contributes but brown can drive. trade brown and powell and the cash you have a get a decent back up center and pg and resign Odom hes been a big impact to the team like Ariza did. Lakers have to be more aggresive and thats what Artest will provide and that will give Pau and Bynum and Kobe out of the pic witch is a bad thing.
