Hate to say this early but... i guess we have to let go of Lamar and give Powell a chance to shine next season. This will also pave the way to acquire a new forward with the same credentials as Odom.

As long as Kobe Bryant stays healthy and the office is able to either sign Ariza,Odom, and Brown or find other players with quality talent as these 3 there should be no reason the Lakers should not be in the hunt for another championship run next season.
In my opinion, the free agency should have enough talent, that equals that or greater to Ariza,Odom,Brown,With a healthy Kobe Bryant,Derik Fisher, and in my opinion, the number 2 man in the NBA,Pal Gasol, they should make another run. Players like Luke Walton,Sasha Vujacic,Jordan Formar, are expendable, and they are other free agency players that outplay these 3 players, what the office decides to do with these players is anyones guess. The chinese player Sun,Adam Morrison,DJ Mjenda should start looking for other places to continue there playing careers.

The most urgent need for the Lakers next season is actually in the point guard position. Somehow, Fisher, Farmar, and Brown have to work on defending faster guards in the NBA. The next generation of Chris Paul's, Aaron Brook's are on their way coming out of this year's NBA draft!
