lakers have the talent and a deep bench. even without Bynum they are a force. do have they have the mental toughness and warrior mentality? Kobe and Fisher have it. is that enough? they must grind at have court and play defense with intensity. can they sustain it for the playoffs? we will see. I feel they have a chance to come out of the west. However Boston and Detroit do have that mental toughness and I think that would be to much for the Lakers this year. However next year prepare for a possible dynasty in LALA land.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. This is playoff basketball...much more physical, more emphasis on execution, and more bad officiating. Being able to maintain consistency, composure, and energy are keys to winning in the playoffs.

The Western Conference is loaded this year, so realistically anything can happen...just ask Dallas.

The Lakers are a young dynamic team, with the best player in the game, Kobe Bryant. They are deep, but they have not been tested in the playoffs as a team...this current team. They are playing with "house money" this year, because no one expected this from them.

IF they can maintain their defensive energy, offensive consistency, take care of the ball, and not be distracted by playoff officiating, they could win the west. The Championship will depend on who comes out of the east. One more injury could spell disaster for a number of teams, including the Lakers. So lets enjoy the playoffs and see if we can't schedule another summer parade for the Lakeshow!
